''Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns'' is an album by John Hiatt, released in August 2011 on the New West label. It was produced by Kevin Shirley. Its 'Detroit Made' was covered by the Detroit-born Bob Seger on 2014's ''Ride Out''. "When I heard the John Hiatt song," Seger recalled, "I downloaded it, put it in my car and drove around and sang harmony parts. And, of course, the subject matter's a no-brainer because we all love cars in Michigan." John Hiatt
John Robert Hiatt (born August 20, 1952) is an American singer-songwriter. He has played a variety of musical styles on his albums, including new wave, blues, and country. Hiatt has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and has been awarded a variety of other distinctions in the music industry. Hiatt was working as a songwriter for Tree International, a record label in Nashville, Tennessee, when his song " Sure As I'm Sittin' Here" was covered by Three Dog Night. The song became a Top 40 hit, earning Hiatt a recording contract with Epic Records. Since then he has released 22 studio albums, two compilation albums and one live album. Bob Seger
Robert Clark Seger ( ; born May 6, 1945) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded as Bob Seger and the Last Heard and The Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s, breaking through with his first album, ''Ramblin' Gamblin' Man'' (which contained his first national hit of the same name) in 1968. By the early 1970s, he had dropped the 'System' from his recordings and continued to strive for broader success with various other bands. Reese Wynans (born November 28, 1947) is an American keyboard player, who has done session work and has been a member of Double Trouble and progressive rock band Captain Beyond. ''Ride Out'' is the seventeenth studio album by American rock singer–songwriter Bob Seger. The album was released on October 14, 2014. Although Seger had previously stated that it might be his final album, a follow-up album entitled '' I Knew You When'', composed mainly of previously unreleased tracks, was released on November 17, 2017.
