As a session drummer, he has contributed to the work of many well-known artists. Biography Early career As a child, Blevins played cornet and piano, but decided to play drums at age 14. Several years later, he was performing gigs, with an affinity for rock, blues, and Cajun music. Blevins moved from Lake Charles to Lafayette, then Baton Rouge, then to New Orleans. After playing steadily, Blevins moved to New York City in 1989 to work as a session drummer, and to Nashville in 1993. Zoo Entertainment was an American record label formed in 1990 by Lou Maglia. Zoo released three platinum records by the group Tool (band), Tool, as well as gold records by Green Jellÿ and Matthew Sweet. During the record company's early years, music industry executive George Daly (music executive), George Daly was the label's original Vice President of A&R. Vanguard Recording Society is an American record label set up in 1950 by brothers Maynard and Seymour Solomon in New York City. It was a primarily classical label at its peak in the 1950s and 1960s, but also has a catalogue of recordings by a number of pivotal jazz, folk, and blues musicians. The Bach Guild was a subsidiary label. The label was acquired by Concord Bicycle Music in April 2015. History The newly founded venture's first record was of J.S.
