Dipayal
Dipayal Silgadhi ( ne, दिपायल सिलगढी) is a municipality and the district headquarter of Doti District in Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Previously, it also served as the headquarter of the Far-Western Development Region. It lies in the Lesser Himalayas on the bank of Seti River. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 32,941 people living in 7,447 individual households. Transportation Seti Highway begins in Dipayal Silgadhi, linking it to Amargadhi, from where the Terai region of Nepal can be reached on Mahakali Highway. Doti Airport is now functional operating twice a week lies in Dipayal Silgadhi. Media Radio Nepal has a regional station in Dipayal Silgadhi which transmits various programs of mass interest. Far-Western Development Region, Nepal
The Far-Western Development Region (Nepali: सुदुर पश्चिमाञ्चल विकास क्षेत्र, ''Sudur Pashchimānchal Bikās Kshetra'') was one of Nepal's five development regions. It was located at the western end of the country and had its headquarters in Dipayal. The Far-Western Region covered 19,539 square kilometers. It had nine districts with the regional headquarters at Dipayal, Doti district. The Far-Western Region was remote and developmentally challenged. Some 44% of people in the Far West ''Hills'' and 49% in the '' Himalayan'' districts lived below the poverty line. The region had limited basic services. The difficult topography complicated development. The region had complex socio-economic structures along with widespread gender- and caste-based discrimination. Doti District ( ne, डोटी जिल्ला ), part of Sudurpashchim Province, is one of the 77 districts of Nepal. This district, with Silgadhi as its headquarters, covers an area of with a population of 207,066 in 2001 and increasing marginally to 211,746 in 2011. History Doti was a medieval kingdom of Kumaon. It was founded by Niranjan Malla Dev, the last son of the Katyuri dynasty and younger brother of Abhay Pal of Askot. Doti Airport
Doti Airport , also known as Silgadhi Airport, is a domestic airport located in Dipayal Silgadhi serving Doti District, a district in Sudurpashchim Province in Nepal. History The airport started operations on 24 September 1973, but the runway was only blacktopped and upgraded in 2020 for Nepalese Rupees 50 million. It was reinaugurated on 3 October 2020. Seti Highway ( ne, सेती राजमार्ग, also referred to as H15) is a highway, in the western region of Nepal. This highway links the towns of Amargadhi, the district headquarter of Dadeldhura and Dipayal Silgadhi, the district headquarter of Doti. Sudurpashchim Province ( ne, सुदूरपश्चिम प्रदेश, ''Sudurpashchim Province'') (''Far-West Province'') is one of the seven provinces established by the new constitution of Nepal which was adopted on 20 September 2015. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north, Karnali Province and Lumbini Province to the east, and the India's Kumaon to the west and Uttar Pradesh to the south. The province covers an area of 19,539 km2 - about 13.22% of the country's total area. Radio Nepal ( ne, रेडियो नेपाल) is the state-owned Radio broadcasting organisation of Nepal. It was established 2 April 1951. Radio Nepal airs programs on short wave, medium wave (AM broadcasting, AM) and FM broadcasting, FM frequencies. Regular broadcasts consume sixteen hours every day, including two hours of regional broadcasts. Public holidays feature an additional two hours. FM Kathmandu, the first FM channel covering Kathmandu valley and adjoining areas, was started in 1995 in Singha Durbar, Kathmandu. Amargadhi is a municipality and the district headquarter of Dadeldhura District in Sudurpashchim Province of western Nepal. It was named after Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa, who fought in the Gurkha War between 1814 and 1816 At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 21,245 people living in 4,778 individual households.
