Dhaka Art Summit
Dhaka Art Summit is an art summit held in Dhaka, Bangladesh and is organised by Samdani Art Foundation, a non- profit art infrastructure development organisation founded by Nadia Samdani. and Rajeeb Samdani in 2011. About The summit displays artworks such as paintings, photography, sculptures, installations, digital art, video art, etc. 2012 The 1st edition of the Summit was held in collaboration with Shilpakala Academy and Bangladesh National Museum and showcased the works of 249 artists and 19 galleries. The 1st edition of the Summit focused only on the local artists and galleries. The Summit was visited over 40,000 visitors. Pooja Sood is an Indian curator and art management consultant. She is also the founding member and Director of KHOJ International Artist's Association. Education Pooja is a mathematics graduate and has an MBA in Marketing (1984–86) from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. Sood has an MA in Art History (1990–92) from Punjab University, Chandigarh. She also has a certificate in Cultural Policy from the CEU, Budapest (2007); and in Arts Management from the European Summer Academy of ICCM, Salzburg (2000). Hajra Waheed is a Montréal-based artist. Her multimedia practice includes works on paper, collage, sound, video, sculpture and installation. Waheed uses news accounts, extensive research and personal histories to critically examine multiple issues including: covert power, mass surveillance, cultural distortion and the traumas of displacement caused by colonialism and mass migration. Shishir Bhattacharjee
Shishir Bhattacharjee (born 1960) is a Bangladeshi artist. His paintings, critical of the political establishment but always in a satirical fashion, were first seen in the 1980s. Rashid Hossain Choudhury (1 April 1932 – 12 December 1985) was a Bangladeshi second generation artist, sculptor, writer and professor. He played a major part in the art movements and improvement in the art-related educational institutions of Bangladesh. Prabhavatigupta (died ), was a Gupta princess and Vakataka queen who was the consort of Maharaja Rudrasena II. Following the death of her husband, she effectively ruled the Vakataka kingdom as regent from about 390 to 410.
