Rashid Choudhury
Rashid Hossain Choudhury (1 April 1932 – 12 December 1985) was a Bangladeshi second generation artist, sculptor, writer and professor. He played a major part in the art movements and improvement in the art-related educational institutions of Bangladesh. He has received numerous awards and recognition for creative contribution and innovative influence. During the 1950s, he had been a significant pioneer in the modern art movement in Bandladesh. Choudhury received education in fine arts in Madrid and Paris. As such, a western influence can be seen in his uniquely Bengali work. Beside Art Movements, he made particular contribution in fine arts education in Bangladesh, founding the Chittagong Art College. His works can be seen displayed across the world, by both public and private institutions. Faridpur District
Faridpur District ( bn, ফরিদপুর জেলা) is a district in south-central Bangladesh. It is a part of the Dhaka Division. It is bounded by the Padma River to its northeast. The district was named after Farīd-ud-Dīn Masʿūd, a 13th century Sufi saint. A separate district was created by severing Dhaka district in 1786 and was called Dacca Jelalpur. A municipality was established in 1869. Historically, the town was known as ''Fatehabad''. It was also called Haveli Mahal Fatehabad. History The town of Fatehabad was located by a stream known as the Dead Padma, which was from the main channel of the Padma River. Sultan Jalaluddin Muhammad Shah established a mint in Fatehabad during his reign in the early 15th century. Fatehabad continued to be a mint town of the Bengal Sultanate until 1538. Tapestry Artists
Tapestry is a form of textile art, traditionally woven by hand on a loom. Tapestry is weft-faced weaving, in which all the warp threads are hidden in the completed work, unlike most woven textiles, where both the warp and the weft threads may be visible. In tapestry weaving, weft yarns are typically discontinuous; the artisan interlaces each coloured weft back and forth in its own small pattern area. It is a plain weft-faced weave having weft threads of different colours worked over portions of the warp to form the design. Tapestry is relatively fragile, and difficult to make, so most historical pieces are intended to hang vertically on a wall (or sometimes in tents), or sometimes horizontally over a piece of furniture such as a table or bed. Asiatic Society Of Bangladesh
The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh is a non political and non profit research organisation registered under both Society Act of 1864 and NGO Bureau, Government of Bangladesh. The Asiatic Society of Bangladesh was established as the Asiatic Society of East Pakistan in Dhaka in 1952 by a number of Muslim leaders, and renamed in 1972. Ahmed Hasan Dani, a noted Muslim historian and archaeologist of Pakistan played an important role in founding this society. He was assisted by Muhammad Shahidullah, a Bengali linguist. The society is housed in Nimtali, walking distance from the Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, locality of Old Dhaka. Alauddin Al Azad
Alauddin Al-Azad (6 May 1932 – 3 July 2009) was a modern Bangladeshi author, novelist, and poet. Early life and education Azad was born in Dhaka. He Passed Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate in 1947 and 1949 respectively. From Dhaka University he earned his BA (Honors) and MA in 1953 and 1954. He received his PhD from London University in 1970 for his work ''Iswar Gupter Jeebon o Kabita''. Also he was a first secretary of Bangladesh High Commission in Moscow. Chandraghona
Chandraghona is a town on the Karnaphuli River in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. Geography The town is located on the Kaptai Road between Kaptai Upazila and Ranguni, 48 kilometers from the city of Chittagong. It is from Bahaddarhut bus station. One of the larger fields of the Bangladeshi crop ''Gumai Jheel'' is in the area. Cultures represented here include those of the Chakma people and Marma people. There are historic Buddhist temples in the region. Chandroghona is birthplace of Nelson Baroi.
