''The Truth Will Out'' (Swedish: ''Det som göms i snö''; English translation: "what is hidden in snow") is a Swedish mystery-thriller TV series broadcast from 21 August 2018 on Kanal 5. It was created by Hans Jörnlind and , directed by Kjell-Åke Andersson and Lisa Farzaneh, produced by Søren Stærmose, and stars Robert Gustafsson in the lead role of police detective Peter Wendel. The series is based on ideas by Leif G. W. Persson. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, centres on Peter and his cold case unit, which re-examines several murders after a defence lawyer is killed. Peter's team members are Caijsa (Louise Peterhoff), Barbro (Maria Langhammer), and Jorma (). A second season of five episodes was streamed from 19 September 2021 on Viaplay. ''The Killing'' ( da, Forbrydelsen, lit=The Crime) is a Danish police procedural drama television series created by Søren Sveistrup and produced by DR in co-production with ZDF Enterprises. It premiered on the Danish national television channel DR1 on 7 January 2007, and has since been broadcast in several other countries. The series is set in Copenhagen and revolves around Detective Inspector Sarah Lund (Sofie Gråbøl). Each series follows a murder case day-by-day. Each fifty-minute episode covers twenty-four hours of the investigation. Sture Ragnar Bergwall (born 26 April 1950), also known as Thomas Quick from 1993–2002, is a Swedish man previously believed to have been a serial killer, having confessed to more than 30 murders while detained in a mental institution for personality disorders. Between 1994 and 2001, Quick was convicted of eight of these murders. However, he withdrew all of his confessions in 2008. As a result, his murder convictions were quashed, the final one in July 2013, and he was released from hospital. The episode raised issues about how murder convictions could have been obtained on such weak evidence, and has been called the largest miscarriage of justice in Swedish history.
