Destrehan High School is a public high school located in Destrehan, Louisiana, United States and is approximately twenty-five miles west of New Orleans. It is part of the St. Charles Parish Public School System and serves all students on the east bank of the Mississippi River from grades 9 through 12. It serves the communities of Destrehan, Montz, New Sarpy, Norco, and St. Rose. History In 1923, the Mexican Petroleum Company donated three and one half acres of property to the St. Charles Parish School Board for the construction of a high school. On August 7, 1923, the school board president accepted the donation and St. Charles Parish approved a bond issue for school construction. Destrehan High School was dedicated on September 15, 1924 and the facility received 234 pupils in grades one through eleven. DeQuincy High School
DeQuincy High School is a senior high school in DeQuincy, Louisiana, United States. It is a part of Calcasieu Parish Public Schools. History A man named Mr. D. D. Hereford began teaching in DeQuincy in 1899. In 1910 a dedicated brick school building opened for 148 students. The Louisiana State Department of Education declared it an approved high school in 1913. The following year it moved into a new brick building and had an enrollment of about 700. A storm destroyed two of the school's buildings in 1918, and the school moved into rebuilt facilities. The Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools began accrediting the school in 1920. One school building was destroyed by a fire in 1943. The high school moved to its present site in 1959–60. Wildcat Stadium (Louisiana)
Wildcat Stadium is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose stadium opened in 1981 in Destrehan, Louisiana. It is home to the Destrehan High School Fighting Wildcats football, soccer and track and field teams in the LHSAA. The stadium playing surface is FieldTurf with an all-weather running track surrounding the field. In addition to the Destrehan High School athletic teams, the stadium hosts the annual Ed Reed River Parishes football jamboree games and the annual Ed Reed football camp. The St. Charles Parish School Board and Recreation Department also utilizes the facility for multiple athletic events.
