Desde Gayola
''Desde Gayola'' (en english "From Armchairs") was a Mexican late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show created by Horacio Villalobos. The show premiered on the music video network Telehit in February 2002 as a sketch into the variety show ''Válvula de Escape''. The show revolves around a series of parodies about Mexican culture, sexuality and politics, performed by a large and varying cast of repertory and newer cast members. The TV show followed a format similar to the famous American show ''Saturday Night Live'' with each episode approximately 25 minutes in length and containing an average of five sketches per episode. The show included several transgender actors, who play female characters. Horacio Villalobos (born Horacio Aquiles Villalobos Velasco in 1970) is a Mexican TV host and actor, who currently serves on the judging panel of the renowned Mexican reality musical talent TV series ''La Academia.'' Norberto Rivera Carrera (born 6 June 1942) is a Mexican prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who was archbishop of Mexico City from 1995 to 2017. He was made a cardinal in 1998. Quartz are a British heavy metal band. Origins Quartz dates back to 1974 when they were known as Bandy Legs. Prior to the founding of Quartz, Hopkins had played in Wages of Sin, a short-lived Birmingham band which toured as a backing band for Cat Stevens in 1970. After that band's dissolution, two of his bandmates, expatriate Canadians Ed and Brian Pilling, returned to Canada and formed the band Fludd; Hopkins briefly joined that band in 1972 as a replacement for founding guitarist Mick Walsh, but left by the end of the year after they were dropped from their original record label. Telenovela
A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Similar drama genres around the world include '' teleserye'' (Philippines), '' téléroman'' (Canada, specifically Quebec), and ''sinetron'' (Indonesia). Commonly described using the American colloquialism Spanish soap opera, many telenovelas share some stylistic and thematic similarities to the soap opera familiar to the English-speaking world. The significant difference is their series run length; telenovelas tell one self-contained story, typically within the span of a year or less whereas soap operas tend to have intertwined storylines told during indefinite, continuing runs.
