Demon Hunter (band)
Demon Hunter is an American Christian metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed by brothers Don Clark and Ryan Clark in 2000. Ryan is the band's only remaining original member, as Don left in 2009. As of the 2010s, the band has sold over 600,000 albums. History 2000s Demon Hunter was initially conceived as a project band by the Clarks, who had played together previously in the initially Coalesce and Neurosis influenced but later more experimental band Training for Utopia. Ryan had previously played guitar in hardcore band Focal Point, who released a studio album, ''Suffering of the Masses'', on Tooth & Nail Records in 1996 when Ryan was a teenager. Ryan Clark (musician)
Ryan Clark (born June 23, 1979) is an American graphic designer and musician who also has performed under the stage name Maven. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the Christian metal band Demon Hunter, which he co-founded with his brother, guitarist Don Clark. He was also the frontman for Christian metalcore band Training for Utopia along with being one of the guitarists for Focal Point. He is featured on Zao's ''The Lesser Lights of Heaven'' DVD and Mark Salomon's Podcast, Never Was. Ethan Luck
Ethan John Luck is an American musician, producer, multi-instrumentalist and photographer who has played in several bands, most prominently, the ska band The O.C. Supertones, Demon Hunter, Kings of Leon, Morgan Wade, and pop punk band Relient K. He has played on albums for Kutless, Roper, Nikki Clan and Last Tuesday. Background Luck and fellow Supertones alumnus Daniel Spencer ran Rebel Waltz Recording Co., a recording studio based in Franklin, Tennessee. Artists that recorded there included Flatfoot 56, August Burns Red, The Send, The Lonely Hearts and many others. Luck and Spencer also had a short-lived, Nashville-based punk band called My Red Hot Nightmare. MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. ''Summer of Darkness'' is the second album by American metalcore band Demon Hunter, released through Solid State in 2004. In the first week, the album sold 4.247 copies. Vocalist Ryan Clark described the album as being heavier than its predecessor. Indeed, while the band's debut was recorded in drop C tuning, ''Summer of Darkness'' would be dropped further to drop B tuning. Embodyment was a Christian rock band from Arlington, Texas. The group formed in 1992 and were first known by the name Supplication where they originally played death metal, later turning to deathcore with the release of their debut album ''Embrace the Eternal'', which in turn is credited as one of the earliest deathcore releases of all time. The Agony Scene is an American heavy metal band from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Formed in 2000, the group currently consists of lead guitarist Chris Emmons, vocalist Mike Williams, and rhythm guitarist Brian Hodges. The band has released four albums, one on Solid State Records, one on Roadrunner Records, one on Century Media Records, and one on Outerloop Records. Extol are a Christian metal band from Bekkestua, Norway that was formed in 1993. The band is known for playing a variety of different styles of metal which include progressive metal, death metal, black metal and thrash metal. Over the course of their career, the band has released five studio albums and two EPs. The band are noted for their precise, technical musicianship. The fourth album, '' The Blueprint Dives'', received a Spellemannsprisen nomination for Best Metal Album of 2005. Poor Old Lu was a pioneering Christian alternative rock band based in the American Northwest. ''Demon Hunter'' is the debut album by American metalcore band Demon Hunter, released through Solid State in 2002. Recording The album was recorded in Drop C tuning. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx.
