Delta is a city in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, United States. The population was 376 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Cape Girardeau– Jackson, MO- IL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Name A post office called Delta was established in 1914. The community was named after a nearby railroad junction in the shape of the Greek letter delta. Geography Delta is located in the flatland adjacent to the east end of Hickory Ridge and east of the Whitewater River south of the Headwater Diversion Channel.
