De La Salle Gaelic football and hurling club is based in Waterford City, Ireland. The club competes in Gaelic games competitions organised by Waterford GAA board. The club has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship twice and the Waterford Senior Football Championship on 6 occasions. While having a notable record in gaelic football, today the club mainly focuses on hurling. History The club takes its name from St. Stephens De La Salle National School in Patrick Street and previous to the current club being established, fielded a hurling team under the name of St. Stephens. St. Stephens won 2 Senior County Hurling Championships, 1913 and 1914. In recent years the club has concentrated on developing juvenile players and now has one of the biggest under age setups in the South East of Ireland. All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Senior Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county club hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year since the 1970-71 championship (except for 2020-2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The final, currently held on the third Sunday in January, is the culmination of a series of games played between October and February with the winners receiving the Tommy Moore Cup. The All-Ireland Championship has always been played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team loses they are eliminated from the championship. GAA All Stars Awards Past Winners (Hurling)
This is a list of all the past winners of the official GAA GPA All Stars Awards in hurling since the first awards in 1971. As an insight to the prominent players of the 1960s, it also includes the unofficial "Cuchulainn" awards presented from 1963 to 1967 under the auspices of ''Gaelic Weekly'' magazine. Since 1971, the All Ordinaries Awards in hurling have been presented annually to a set of fifteen hurlers from that year's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, who are seen to be deserving of being named in a "Team of the Year". Jake Dillon
Jake Dillon (born 13 January 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right wing-forward for the Waterford senior team. Born in Waterford, Dillon first played competitive hurling whilst at school in De La Salle College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Waterford minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2013 National Hurling League. Dillon has since gone on to play a key role in the forwards for Waterford, however, he has yet to claim any silverware. At club level Dillon is a one-time Munster medallist with De La Salle. He has also won two championship medals. Kevin Moran (hurler)
Kevin Moran (born 3 March 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays for De La Salle and formerly of the Waterford county hurling team. He is also a teacher in De La Salle College Waterford. Moran made his first appearance for the team during the 2006 championship and became a regular member of the starting fifteen over the following few seasons. Since then he has won two Munster winners' medals, two National League winners' medals and one All-Star award. Moran has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. At club level Moran is a two-time Munster medalist with De La Salle. In addition to this he has also won three county club championship winners' medals. Thurles Sarsfields is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions.
