Jake Dillon
Jake Dillon (born 13 January 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right wing-forward for the Waterford senior team. Born in Waterford, Dillon first played competitive hurling whilst at school in De La Salle College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Waterford minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. He made his senior debut in the 2013 National Hurling League. Dillon has since gone on to play a key role in the forwards for Waterford, however, he has yet to claim any silverware. At club level Dillon is a one-time Munster medallist with De La Salle. He has also won two championship medals. Darragh Fives
Darragh Fives (born 26 March 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Junior Championship club Tourin–Ballinwillin and at inter-county level with the Waterford senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a left wing-back. Playing career University College Cork During his studies at University College Cork, Fives joined the senior hurling team. On 3 March 2012, he was at centre-back when UCC defeated the Cork Institute of Technology by 2-15 to 2-14 to win the Fitzgibbon Cup. On 2 March 2013, Fives was again at centre-back when UCC reached a second successive Fitzgibbon Cup final. He claimed a second winners' medal following a 2-17 to 2-12 defeat of Mary Immaculate College. Pauric Mahony
Pauric Mahony (born 11 May 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Senior Championship club Ballygunner and was previously the captain of the Waterford senior hurling team before announcing his retirement from inter-county hurling in 2023. Playing career De La Salle College Mahony first came to prominence as a hurler with De La Salle College in Waterford. He played in every grade before eventually joining the college's senior team. On 8 March 2008, he was just 15-years-old when he won a Harty Cup medal after lining out at left corner-forward in a 1-11 to 0-07 defeat of Thurles CBS in the final. On 19 April 2008, Mahony again lined out at left corner-forward when De La Salle College again faced Thurles CBS in the All-Ireland final. Noel Connors
Noel Connors (born 5 May 1990) is an Irish hurler who played for Waterford Senior Championship club Passage anformerly playedfor and captained the Waterford senior hurling team. He was usually deployed as a corner-back, but could also be deployed as a full-back or as a centre-back. Connors began his hurling career with the Passage club, with whom he won Waterford Championship medals at intermediate level in 2007 and at senior level in 2013. He made his debut for the Waterford senior team in 2009, having previously played for the Waterford minor and under-21 teams. Since then Connors has won National Hurling League and Munster Championship medals, as well as being an All-Ireland Championship runner-up in 2017. The 2009 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship was the 78th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1928. The championship began on 12 April 2009 and ended on 6 September 2009. Kilkenny entered the championship as the defending champions. On 6 September 2009, Galway won the championship after a 2-15 to 2-11 defeat of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. This was their 8th championship title overall and their first title since 2005. Munster Minor Hurling Championship
The Munster GAA Hurling Minor Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Hurling Minor Championship) is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players under the age of 17 in the province of Munster, and has been contested every year since the 1928 championship. The final, usually held on the first Sunday in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during May and June, and the results determine which team receives the TWA Cup. The championship was previously played on a straight knockout basis whereby once a team lost they were eliminated from the championship, however, as of 2018 the championship will use a round-robin system. 2015 National Hurling League
The 2015 National Hurling League was the 84th staging of the National Hurling League. Waterford won their first title since 2007 after a 1-24 to 0-17 win against Cork in the final on 3 May. TG4 and Setanta provided live coverage of the league with highlights shown on RTÉ2 on Sunday nights. Format 34 teams play in the 2015 NHL. There are six teams in the top five divisions, and four teams in Division 3B. Each team plays each other once, either home or away. 2 points are awarded for a win, and 1 for a draw.
