David Law (golfer)
David Connor James Law (born 4 May 1991) is a Scottish professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. He won the 2018 SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge on the Challenge Tour and had his first European Tour victory, the ISPS Handa Vic Open, in early 2019. Amateur career In 2009 Law won two important match-play titles, the Scottish Amateur and the Scottish Boys Amateur Championship. He won the Scottish Amateur for a second time in 2011. Law was not selected for the 2011 Walker Cup at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club despite his win in the Scottish Amateur. Soon after the selection of the Walker Cup team, Law won the Northern Open, the first amateur to win the event since 1970. Professional career Law turned professional in late 2011. He won the 2013 Sueno Dunes Classic on the Pro Golf Tour and finished fifth in the Order of Merit to earn a place on the Challenge Tour for 2014. The 2018 Challenge Tour was a series of professional golf tournaments collectively known as the Challenge Tour. The Challenge Tour is Europe's official developmental tour and is organised by the PGA European Tour. European Amateur Team Championship
The European Amateur Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for men organised by the European Golf Association which was introduced in 1959. The championship was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format 1959–1965 Each team consisted of a minimum of six players, playing two rounds of stroke play, counting the four best scores for each team. The four best teams formed flight A, were the winner was determined by a round-robin system. The Open Championship
The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, and one of the most prestigious. The PGA Championship (often referred to as the US PGA Championship or USPGA outside the United States) is an annual golf tournament conducted by the Professional Golfers' Association of America. Masters Tournament
The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. Zane Scotland
Zane Leo Scotland (born 17 July 1982) is an English professional golfer. Scotland was born in Manchester and educated at The John Fisher School in Surrey. In 1997 he won a competition to find a British Tiger Woods. He went on to have a successful amateur career, winning several tournaments and gaining many representative honours, in addition to becoming the youngest English player ever to qualify for The Open Championship in 1999. He turned professional in 2003 but a car crash that resulted in an injury to his neck severely affected his early career. Scotland finally earned his place on the European Tour by finishing inside the top 120 on the Order of Merit in 2007 despite having limited playing opportunities. However he failed to establish himself during his maiden season in 2008 and was back competing on the second tier Challenge Tour the following year. Daan Huizing
Daan Huizing (born 22 October 1990) is a Dutch professional golfer. Huizing entered the European Tour qualifying school at the end of 2012. Because of his high ranking as an amateur, he was exempt from the first stage of qualifying. He made it through to the third stage where he finished 80th, earning a place in some Challenge Tour events for 2013. Huizing won twice in 2013, at the Northern Ireland Open Challenge and two weeks later at the Kharkov Superior Cup. He was also joint runner-up in the Kärnten Golf Open and finished the year in sixth place in the Challenge Tour standings, and graduated to the European Tour for 2014. Huizing had a disappointing 2014 with best finishes of tied for 12th place. Since 2015 Huizing has mostly played on the Challenge Tour.
