David Dennis (actor)
David Dennis (born 17 May 1960) is a South African actor. He is best known for his role as Sol in the SABC 1 TV series ''Soul City''. Dennis also played a significant role in the TV series ''Charlie Jade'', as police detective Sew Sew Tukarrs. Dennis also played a terrorist Abasi Sawalha in Strike Back: Project Dawn - Season 2. In total, Dennis has had roles in thirteen different television series. He has won many awards for his theatre, and musical theatre performances. Dennis has appeared in seven feature films, including: '' Red Dust'', ''10,000 BC'' and ''Disgrace''. He won Best Supporting Actor at the South African Film and Television Awards, in 2009, for his role as Jacob, in the feature film ''The World Unseen''. SABC 1
SABC 1 is a South African public television network operated by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) which carries programming in English and Nguni. It was created in 1996, after the SABC restructured its television channels. SABC 1 carried much of its programming over from the defunct CCV (Contemporary Community Values) network, which was itself made up of the former TV2, TV3 and TV4 timeshared channels created in the 1980s. SABC 1 generates the widest audience in South Africa due to its programming diversity, airing SABC's longest-running soap-opera, '' Generations'', ''Uzalo'' and ''Skeem Saam.'' ''Charlie Jade'' is a science fiction television series filmed mainly in Cape Town, South Africa. It stars Jeffrey Pierce in the title role, as a detective from a parallel universe (fiction), parallel universe who finds himself trapped in our universe. This is a Canadian and South African co-production filmed in conjunction with CHUM Limited, CHUM Television and the South African Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The special effects were produced by the Montreal-based company Cinegroupe led by Michel Lemire. The show started in 2004 and was aired on the Canadian CTV Sci-Fi Channel, Space Channel. ''10,000 BC'' is a 2008 American action-adventure film directed by Roland Emmerich, starring Steven Strait and Camilla Belle. The film is set in the prehistoric era and depicts the journeys of a prehistoric tribe of mammoth hunting Neanderthals. The world premiere was held on February 10, 2008, at Sony Center on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The film was a box office hit, but consistently regarded by professional critics as Emmerich's worst film, as well as one of the worst films of 2008.
