Danny Way (born April 15, 1974) is an American professional skateboarder, company owner and rallycross driver who has been awarded ''Thrasher'' magazine's "Skater of the Year" award twice. He is known for extreme stunts, such as jumping into a skateboard ramp from a helicopter; that was featured on the cover of ''Transworld Skateboarding'' magazine. One of his more notable stunts was jumping the Great Wall of China on a skateboard via megaramp. Early life Way was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in San Diego, California. His childhood was marred by difficult circumstances. Ollie (skateboarding)
The ollie is a skateboarding trick where the rider and board leap into the air without the use of the rider's hands. It is the combination of stomping, also known as popping, the tail of the skateboard off the ground to get the board mostly vertical, jumping, and sliding the front foot forward to level out the skateboard at the peak of the jump. The ollie is a fundamental skill in skateboarding. Ollies are necessary to leap onto, over, or off of obstacles. As most flip tricks depend on it, the ollie is often the first skill to be learned by a new skateboarder and typically takes considerable practice to learn. Damon Way (born September 23, 1971) is an American designer, brand marketer, and entrepreneur. He co-founded DC Shoes in 1994. In 2008 he became a partner at Incase Designs, and transitioned to Chief Brand Officer. In 2016 he launched skateboarding apparel brand, FACT. In 2018 he cofounded spatial audio brand Syng, where he currently serves as Chief Brand Officer. Early life Damon Way was born in Portland, Oregon in 1971. He was brought up by his mother alongside younger brother, and professional skateboarder, Danny Way, in San Diego California.
