Danny Hay
Daniel John Hay (born 15 May 1975) is a retired New Zealand professional footballer who is currently the manager of the New Zealand national football team, New Zealand U-23, and New Zealand U-20. Hay played as a central defender for Premier League club Leeds United and National Soccer League side, Perth Glory. He also captained Waitakere United in the New Zealand Football Championship. Early and personal life Hay was born in Auckland and grew up in Titirangi and later Hillsborough. He attended Kelston Boys High School where he played in the 1st XI for four years between 1990–1993. 1996 National Summer Soccer League
The 1996 National Summer Soccer League was the inaugural season of a short-lived nationwide association football club competition in New Zealand. The competition replaced the Superclub competition, which operated until 1995. The 1996 series was won by Waitakere City. Structure The league was an invitation-only competition, with no promotion or relegation taking place. Matches took place between January and May 1996. The competition was divided into two stages. In the first phase the ten teams took part in a round-robin league, with each team playing every other team home and away. The top four teams from this stage progressed to a play-off series. New Zealand Superclub League
The Superclub league was a national association football league competition which ran in New Zealand from 1993 to 1995. It replaced the first incarnation of the New Zealand National Soccer League and was itself replaced by the National Summer Soccer League. Background Towards the end of the 23-year history of the NZNSL's first incarnation it became obvious that some clubs were finding it difficult to recoup the costs of competing. Matters were brought to a head in 1987 when Dunedin City withdrew from the league, citing the heavy expense of travel. Kelston Boys' High School
Kelston Boys' High School ("KBHS") (Te kura tuarua o nga tamatane o kerehana) is an all-boys state secondary school in Kelston, a suburb in the Waitakere region of Auckland, New Zealand. It was created in 1963 when the roll of Kelston High School (formed in 1954) became too large for the site on the corner of Archibald and Gt North Rds. The boys moved to a new site further down Archibald Road, leaving the original site to be the home of Kelston Girls High School (now Kelston Girls' College). Although the school is known for the strength of its various sports teams, it has also had some notable achievements in music, dance and theatresports and produced some outstanding academic results.
