Danielle Schmiemann
Danielle Nicole Schmiemann (born May 29, 1996) is a Canadians, Canadian Curling, curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She currently plays Third (curling), third on Team Selena Sturmay. She is originally from Sundre, Sundre, Alberta but later moved to and graduated from high school in Stony Plain, Alberta. Career Schmiemann started at the University of Alberta in 2014, joining the Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas, Pandas Curling Program. She played within the program throughout the entirety of her University Degree and now joins a group of very successful Bears and Pandas alumni, including all three of her current teammates Kelsey Rocque, Dana Ferguson and Rachelle Brown. In 2015, Schmiemann joined the Kelsey Rocque rink of Rocque, Holly Jamieson and Jesse Iles. Crestwood Ladies Fall Classic
The Crestwood Ladies Fall Classic was an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that took place at the Crestwood Curling Club in Edmonton, Alberta. It was established in 2014 and ran until 2018, when it was discontinued. The event was held in a round robin format. Through its five editions, the event featured mainly Albertan teams, however, only two of the winning teams were from there. The tournament also included teams from other Canadian provinces such as British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and the Northwest Territories. Chelsea Brandwood
Chelsea Brandwood is a Canadian curler from St. Catharines, Ontario. She currently skips a team on the World Curling Tour. Her hometown is Beamsville, Ontario. Career Youth Brandwood's first provincial title came at the women's bantam championship in 2012. Brandwood won the Ontario Junior women's championship in 2015, with teammates Claire Greenlees, Brenda Holloway and Danielle Greenlees. The team represented Ontario at the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Brandwood led her rink to a 7-3 record, after the round robin tournament. Rachelle Brown
Rachel "Rachelle" Brown (born July 9, 1986 as Rachel Pidherny) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. Career Born in Smithers, British Columbia, Brown moved to Edmonton c. 2006. As a university curler, she represented the University of Alberta at four CIS/CCA Curling Championships. Brown first represented her new province at the 2009 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship, playing lead for Team Alberta, skipped by Tom Appelman. The team had a less than successful tournament, going 3–8, but Brown had the best percentage among leads in the tournament, and was named to the First All-Star team. Brown played for a number of skips before joining the Sweeting rink in 2011. She played with Joanne Delanoy from 2008 to 2009, Diane Foster and Casey Scheidegger from 2009 to 2010 and for Bobbie Sauder and Dana Ferguson from 2010 to 2011. Dana Ferguson
Dana Ferguson (born February 25, 1987 in St. Albert, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. She currently plays second on Team Kelsey Rocque. Career Ferguson was a member of the University of Alberta team that lost in the tie-breaker game of the 2010 CIS/CCA Curling Championships. She played third for the team, which was skipped by Jessica Mair. Also that season, Ferguson played third for Brenda Doroshuk's women's rink which went 0–3 at the 2010 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts. In 2011, Ferguson made the transition to the skip position after her new skip, Bobbie Sauder took some time off to have a baby. At the 2011 Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts, her rink made the playoffs, but lost in the quarter final to Heather Nedohin. Kelsey Elizabeth Rocque (born March 25, 1994) is a Canadian curler residing in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. She is a two-time World Junior champion skip. Career In 2013, Rocque played for her first University Championship, at the 2013 CIS/CCA Curling Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia, for the University of Alberta Pandas. There, she would go 6–1 in the round robin and it would earn her a spot in the semifinals. She then, would play the Saint Mary's Huskies and win in an 8–2 decision. She would then go on to play in the final against the Manitoba Bisons and lose in a 9–7 decision. Rocque would win the silver medal, and be named to the First All Star team at the skip position. The Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas are the sports teams that represent the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Alberta athletics teams have won a total of 93 national championships, including 79 U Sports sanctioned sports, making it one of the most successful programs in the country.
