Daniel Drew (rugby Union)
Daniel Drew (1850 - 2 February 1914) was a Scottish international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Academicals in Glasgow. Born in Dunoon in 1850, Drew played as a Forward. Drew played in the first ever rugby union international match for Scotland against England in 27 March 1871 at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh. Almost five years later Daniel received another Scotland call up to play against England. He played in the 6 March 1876 match at The Oval in London. Dunoon
Dunoon (; gd, Dùn Omhain) is the main town on the Cowal peninsula in the south of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is located on the western shore of the upper Firth of Clyde, to the south of the Holy Loch and to the north of Innellan. The Glasgow Academical Football Club is the third oldest rugby football club in Scotland. The club was also a founder member of the Scottish Football Union (the future SRU) in 1873. The Scotland national rugby union team represents Scotland in men's international rugby union and is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union.
