Dana Dawson
Dana Dawson (August 7, 1974 – August 10, 2010) was an American actress and singer. Early life and career Dawson made her acting debut at the age of 7 in a national tour of '' Annie''. She was an understudy of the character Mimi, in the national tour of ''Rent'' in 2000 and joined the Broadway cast in 2001. In an interview in ''The Patriot-News'' (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) Dawson said that she was given time to become secure in each of the two roles she understudied — Mimi and Joanne — before learning the other. ''Black Butterfly'' is the second album by American singer Dana Dawson, originally released in 1995. The album includes Dawson's biggest hit single, " 3 Is Family", which charted in Australia and several European countries, reaching number 9 in the United Kingdom. Two more singles from the album achieved success on the UK Singles Chart, with "Got to Give Me Love" reaching number 27, and "Show Me" reaching number 28. Additionally, another single, "How I Wanna Be Loved," was later added to a re-issue of the album and reached number 42 on the UK Singles Chart. "3 Is Family" is the first single released from American singer Dana Dawson's second and final studio album, '' Black Butterfly'' (1995). The song was written by Billy Mann and produced by Ric Wake. In several territories, including the United Kingdom, it was released as her debut single on June 26, 1995. It was not released in the United States. The track was positively received by music critics and became a big radio hit in Europe, charting within the top 10 on the singles charts of Italy and the United Kingdom. On the European Hit Radio year-end chart for 1995, it was ranked at number 36.
