Dakshineswar Metro Station
Dakshineswar metro station is the northern terminal station of the Kolkata Metro Line 1. The metro station adjoins the platforms of the Dakshineswar railway station where connections can be made with Indian Railways services. History A northward extension from Dum Dum to Dakshineswar (6.20 km .85 mi was sanctioned and included in the 2010–11 budget at a cost of ₹227.53 crore (equivalent to ₹411 crore or US$58 million in 2019). Construction for the station and the section started in 2017. In December 2017, the metro line to the Dakshineswar station was projected to be operational by May 2019. By June 2019, over 95 percent of the viaduct had been completed for the between Noapara and Dakshineswar and that work had begun on the signaling system and laying of the tracks. Dakshineswar Kali Temple is a Hindu navaratna temple in Dakshineswar, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Situated on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, the presiding deity of the temple is Bhavatarini, a form of Parashakti Adya Kali, otherwise known as Adishakti Kalika. Rani Rashmoni
Rashmoni Das, popularly known as Rani Rashmoni, also spelled as Rani Rasmani (28 September 1793 – 19 February 1861), was an Indian businesswoman, Zamindar, philanthropist and the founder of the Dakshineswar Kali Temple in Kolkata and remained closely associated with Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa after she appointed him as the priest of the temple. Her other construction works include the construction of a road from Subarnarekha River to Puri for the pilgrims, Babughat (also known as Babu Rajchandra Das Ghat), Ahiritola Ghat and Nimtala ghat for the everyday bathers at the Ganges. Kamarhati is a city and a municipality of North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
