''Dainik Sambad'' ( bn, দৈনিক সংবাদ) is a Bengali daily newspaper published from Agartala, the capital of the Indian state of Tripura. It is one of the largest circulated dailies in the state. It is considered among the better Bengali language news papers of the North East. In the May 2018 investigative journalism sting by Cobrapost revealed the extent to which the most reputable news papers in India were ready to print communally inciting articles for payments, Dainik Sambad (Gal Shakti) was among the only two publications to refuse to publish it and refused to sell out. Agartala () is the capital city of the Indian state of Tripura, and is one of the largest cities in northeast India. The city is governed by the Agartala Municipal Corporation. Bhupendra Chandra Datta Bhowmik (19 February 1940 – 9 September 1997),Articles published on Dainik Sambad, 9th September 2021, 4th page. also known as Bhupen Datta Bhowmik or Bhupen Datta Bhaumik or Bhupen Dutta Bhowmik, was an Indian Bengali journalist from Agartala, Tripura. Cobrapost is a non-profit Indian news website that was founded in 2005 by Aniruddha Bahal – the co-founder of Tehelka. It is particularly known for its undercover investigative journalism.
