DTM Trophy
The DTM Trophy is a sports car racing series sanctioned by ITR e.V. who have been affiliated to the DMSB- FIA since 1984. The series is based in Germany, with rounds elsewhere in Europe, racing a mass-produced GT4 racing cars since 2020. DTM Trophy is currently ''de facto'' support series for Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for GT cars eligible for E2-SH and E2-SC-class FIA categories. History On 20 October 2019 it was announced that the ITR e.V. sanctioning body would create the GT4-based sports car racing series, with plans to debut in 2020. On the same date ITR e.V. announced that DTM Trophy would be introduced and thus would be scheduled to debut from 2020 season onwards. Sports car racing is a form of motorsport road racing which utilises sports cars that have two seats and enclosed wheels. They may be purpose-built prototypes or grand tourers based on road-going models. Broadly speaking, sports car racing is one of the main types of circuit auto racing, alongside open-wheel single-seater racing (such as Formula One), touring car racing (such as the British Touring Car Championship, which is based on 'saloon cars' as opposed to the 'exotics' seen in sports cars) and stock car racing (such as NASCAR). 2022 DTM Trophy
The 2022 DTM Trophy was the third and final season of the DTM support series for GT cars eligible for E2-SH and E2-SC-class FIA categories. It was the first season where the BOP was made by AVL Racing. The series was run by ITR, the association also organising the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. The championship ran as part of selected DTM race weekends in 2022, commencing at the Lausitzring on 20 May and finishing on 9 October at the Hockenheimring. The series folded following the 2022 season after ADAC acquired the rights of the parent series and decided to continue running the ADAC GT4 Germany as its only GT4-series. Harald "Hari" Proczyk (born 9 November 1975) is an Austrian racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series. Having previously competed in the ADAC TCR Germany Series, Blancpain Sprint Series & ADAC GT Masters amongst others. Racing career Touring Cars Proczyk began his career in 1998 in the German Citroën Saxo Cup, he raced there for two seasons finishing 2nd in the standings both years, before switching to the German Touring Car Challenge. In 1999 he switched to the German Formula König championship, he raced there for a single season and finished 16th in the championship standings that year. He switched to German Ford Puma Cup in 2001, he finished 9th in the championship standings in 2002, before switching to the German Ford Fiesta Cup in 2003. Tim Heinemann (born 23 October 1997) is a German driver. He won the inaugural DTM Trophy in 2020, driving for HP Racing International, followed by a second title in 2022. He has also raced in the VLN, Nürburgring 24 Hours, ADAC GT4 Germany, ADAC GT Masters, GTC Race and the BMW M2 Cup. He also competed in multiple Sim racing events. Parallel to his racing career, Heinemann also works as an industrial clerk for KW Automotive. The KTM X-Bow (pronounced ''crossbow'') is an ultra-light sports car manufactured by Austrian automotive manufacturer KTM.
