DAT A/S, formerly named ''Danish Air Transport'', is a Danish airline headquartered in Vamdrup, Kolding Municipality, operating scheduled and chartered passenger and cargo flights mainly from airports in Denmark. History DAT was founded as ''Danish Air Transport'' and started operations in 1989, initially as a cargo airline. Soon special operations like the transport of live horses or supplies for the Paris Dakar Rally in Africa were offered, too. Passenger charter flights were added in 1994, with the subsequent launch of scheduled services on 18 November, 1996. Since 2003, DAT also owns DAT LT which has a single ATR aircraft and operates under its own AOC. Prior to 2020, the airline changed its legal name and brand from ''Danish Air Transport'' to the abbreviated ''DAT''. In September 2021, DAT retired their sole McDonnell Douglas MD-83 which was the last aircraft of its type operated in Europe. DAT LT, formerly named ''DOT LT'', is an airline from Lithuania, that offers worldwide ACMI services using a small fleet of passenger aircraft. It is a subsidiary of Danish DAT. History The airline was established and started operations in 2003 as ''Danu Oro Transportas'' with assistance from its majority shareholder DAT Danish Air Transport. On 13 April 2006, it was rebranded as DOT LT, and in 2019 as DAT LT. The company has 60 employees (at February 2010)Flight International 3 April 2007 and is a member of the European Regions Airline Association. Destinations DAT LT no longer operate scheduled services. Ørland Airport
Ørland Airport ( no, Ørland lufthavn; ), also known as Ørland Airport, Brekstad (') is the civilian sector of the ''Ørland Main Air Station''. It is located northwest of the town of Brekstad, the administrative centre of the municipality of Ørland in Trøndelag county, Norway. The civilian sector is municipal, although the runway, air traffic control and rescue services are operated by the Royal Norwegian Air Force. The airport terminal, which has a capacity for 50 simultaneous passengers, was built in 1978 and renovated in 2007. It is served by Air Norway, operated by North Flying, with a daily round trip to Oslo and a weekly service to Aalborg. Brekstad
Brekstad is a town in the municipality of Ørland in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Trondheimsfjord at the entrance to the Stjørnfjorden. The town is located about south of the village of Uthaug and about west of the villages of Austrått and Ottersbo. The town has a population (2021) of 2,311. Brekstad received town status on 8 October 2005, thus becoming the 95th town in Norway. The major employers in Brekstad are Ørland Main Air Station / Ørland Airport, Mascot Høie linen factory, Coop Fosen, and Tine Midt-Norge.
