The Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) provides no-cost education and career-planning programs for members of the United States Armed Forces. DANTES is the Defense Human Resources Activity component responsible for managing a portfolio of education programs and services that help military members achieve their education and career goals. Defense Voluntary Education (VolEd) programs help military members gain the knowledge they need to complete education credentials and college degree programs, advance in their military careers, and transition into the civilian workforce at the conclusion of their military service. The Dantes
The Dantes were an American garage rock band from Worthington, Ohio, a suburb outside of Columbus, who were active from 1964–1969. They became one of the biggest groups in the Columbus area, scoring a #1 hit locally with their 1966 song "Can't Get Enough of Your Love", which has become highly regarded by garage rock enthusiasts and collectors. History The Dantes formed in 1964 in Worthington, a suburb outside of Columbus. The earliest version of the group was founded by Richard Wakefield, but he soon departed, and after several changes in lineup, their roster settled to Barry Hayden on lead vocals, Dave Workman on lead guitar, Lynn Wehr on rhythm guitar, Carter Holliday on bass, and Joe Hinton on drums. Singer Barry Hayden was a charismatic front man, known for his stage moves. Dante's is a nightclub and live music venue in Portland, Oregon. The venue, located along West Burnside Street and owned by Frank Faillace, hosts a variety of acts ranging from burlesque to rock music. Dante's is housed in an unreinforced masonry building. History Faillace opened Dante's in early 2000. In 2017, Pizza Slut replaced the bar's Lonesome's Pizza. Lonesome's had been ranked number seven in ''The Oregonian'' 2013 list of "Portland's top 10 pizzas by the slice". Doug Stanhope's ''Beer Hall Putsch'' standup album was recorded at Dante's in 2013. Katt Williams performed at the venue in 2018. Rolando Pintoy Dantes (June 15, 1940 – March 16, 2009) was an actor, champion bodybuilder and Filipino martial artist who trained with Remy Presas for over 30 years. He was born on June 15, 1940 in the Philippines. He has also trained with other martial arts masters, such as Cacoy Canete and Edgar Sulite. He worked several years as a police officer before becoming an actor. He is one of the best-known Philippine actors. He has had leading roles in different films including "The Pacific Connection" and "Arnis: The Sticks Of Death." In addition, Dantes was a bodybuilder who won the "Mr. Philippines" title five times between 1971–1980 and placed in competitions for the titles "Mr. Universe" and "Mr. World". Dantes Diwiak (born in Slovenia) is a classical tenor, who grew up and has worked mostly in Germany. Career Dantes Diwiak studied singing with Klaus Kirchner and opera at the Musikhochschule Hannover with Theo Altmeyer. He took master classes with Hermann Reutter, Birgit Nilsson, Helmuth Rilling and Scot Weir. He was a member of the Staatsoper Hannover and the opera houses of Bremen and Oldenburg. Diwiak sang the part of the Evangelist in Bach's Passions also in Moscow, France, Syria and Israel, among others. Dantes Ingin Tsitsi (b. September 28, 1959) is a Nauruan politician. Political role Tsitsi was elected to Parliament in the 2007 general elections, gaining the seat of Godfrey Thoma and representing the constituency of Aiwo.
