D121 is a state road connecting the island of Murter with D8 state road near Pirovac. The southern terminus of the road is located in the town of Murter. The northern terminus is immediately to the south of Pirovac Pirovac (Slosella in italian) is a coastal municipality and village in Croatia, 26 km away from the city of Šibenik. Murter (town)
Murter-Kornati is a municipality in central Dalmatia, Croatia. It is named after the two Settlement (Croatia), settlements that it consists of; Murter, located on the Murter, eponymous island, which it shares with Tisno, and Kornati which consists of the Kornati, eponymous archipelago. Population In the 2011 census, the population of the municipality was 2,044, the majority of whom were ethnic Croats with 97.65%. Betina
Betina is a village located on the Croatian island of Murter, seven km from Tisno, where a drawbridge connects the island and the mainland. The largest of the Šibenik archipelago islands, and the closest to the mainland, it has been populated since the time of the Illyrians (tribe of Liburns). Remains of the Roman settlement of Colentum as well as many ruins of Roman villas, murals, and mosaic testify to its occupation during the period of the Roman Empire. History The island of Murter encompasses 17.9 km2 (with nearby islands 25.6 km2.) The island was first mentioned by Scardon in memorials of Ptolemy. It was probably first named Srimač in 1251. Vodice, Croatia
Vodice () is a town in the Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia. It borders the Adriatic Sea and has a population of 8,875 (2011 census). History Vodice was first mentioned in 1402 although it was founded already in the Ancient Rome, Roman times as Arausa. Its name derives from the word meaning water sources which supplied the whole area. As part of the Republic of Venice from 1412 to 1797, the defense walls from the times of the Ottoman Empire, Turks with the Coric tower testify the past times. Other similar monuments are St. Cross' church on the former graveyard, built in 1421 and the parish church in the town centre built in 1746. On the nearby hill Okit during the Turkish invasions, refugees founded a settlement and on its top the chapel of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was built in 1660, which was ruined in 1942 by the Italian Navy. Murter
Murter (; it, Mortero; la, Colentum) is an island in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. Population The main settlements on the island are Murter, located on the north-western part of the island, and the southern part of Tisno. Other settlements on the island include the villages of Betina on the northwestern side and Jezera on the southeastern coast. In the 2011 census, the total island population is about 3,608 inhabitants. Geography The island is in the northwest part of the Šibenik archipelago, separated from the mainland by a wide sea canal at Tisno which is spanned by a short draw-bridge. Knin
Knin (, sr, link=no, Книн, it, link=no, Tenin) is a city in the Šibenik-Knin County of Croatia, located in the Dalmatian hinterland near the source of the river Krka, an important traffic junction on the rail and road routes between Zagreb and Split. Knin rose to prominence twice in history, as the capital of both the medieval Kingdom of Croatia and, briefly, of the unrecognized self-proclaimed Republic of Serbian Krajina for the duration of Croatian War of Independence from 1991 to 1995.
