Düsseldorf-Rath
Rath is a quarter in northern Düsseldorf, part of Borough 6. It is about 5 km northeast of the city center, near the airport. It has an area of , and 20,483 inhabitants (2020). History The Rath area was occupied since at least the Mesolithic. Flint artifacts from the Neolithic and pottery and dwellings from the Bronze Age have been found in Düsseldorf-Rath. In the Iron Age Rath was a center for the Hallstatt Celtic culture, and a ceremonial site has been excavated.Ralf Lommerzheim and Bernd C. Ruhr Valley Railway
The Ruhr Valley Railway (german: Ruhrtalbahn) is a partly abandoned railway line in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, running from Düsseldorf-Rath via Old Kupferdreh station, Bochum-Dahlhausen, Witten-Herbede, Hagen-Vorhalle and Schwerte to Warburg. It was built between 1872 and 1876 by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company (''Bergisch-Märkischen Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft''), one of the three major private railway companies in the Ruhr area. The railway tracks that were built along the Ruhr river had a relatively uniform grade that was suitable for railway operations at the time. The Ruhr Valley line primarily served the transport of coal to the port of Ruhrort, bypassing the Heißen hills. In the heyday of coal mining in the Ruhr, sidings provided a high volume of coal traffic and the line also served the, now closed, Henrichshütte steel works in Hattingen. ISS Dome
The PSD Bank Dome is a multi-use indoor arena in Düsseldorf, Germany, it opened in 2006. The arena has a capacity of 15,151 people and 14,282 people for hockey matches. Events It is used mostly for ice hockey matches, as well as concerts. Its home team is the Düsseldorfer EG. Public transport The ISS Dome is connected to the stations Düsseldorf-Unterrath and Düsseldorf-Rath with a shuttle bus. Both stations have direct transfer to the Rheinbahn tram lines 701, 707 and 715. Furthermore, there are connections to the suburban rail S-Bahn Rhein-Ruhr serving Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund and Cologne. It's planned to extend tram line 701 from station Düsseldorf-Rath to the ISS Dome. With this extension the city centre of Düsseldorf would be linked directly to the ISS Dome. S6 (Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn)
Line S 6 is a S-Bahn line in the Rhein-Ruhr network. It calls, among others, at the cities of Essen, Düsseldorf and Cologne and was the first S-Bahn line in the Rhine-Ruhr network, becoming operational on 28 September 1967 between Ratingen Ost and Düsseldorf-Garath. It is operated at 20-minute intervals using coupled sets of class 422 four-car electrical multiple units. Mannesmann was a German industrial conglomerate. It was originally established as a manufacturer of steel pipes in 1890 under the name "Deutsch-Österreichische Mannesmannröhren-Werke AG". Lichtenbroich is an urban quarter of Düsseldorf, part of Borough 6. It is in the north of the city, neighbouring to Lohausen, Mörsenbroich and the airport. It has an area of , and 6,104 inhabitants (2020). The area Lichtenbroich was written mentioned first time in 1193. It belonged to the Knights of Kelcheim. Lichtenbroich was a swampy area, flooded often by the river Rhine. Until the beginning of the 20th century, there were no industrialisation, nearly no infrastructure and nearly no inhabitants in Lichtenbroich.
