''Dying Alive'' is a two-disc live album by German thrash metal band Kreator. Released in 2013 by Nuclear Blast, it contains 24 tracks recorded at Turbinehalle in Oberhausen. It was also released as a deluxe edition containing the two-CD set and a DVD. Kreator
Kreator is a German thrash metal band from Essen, formed in 1982. Their current lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Miland "Mille" Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö, and bassist Frédéric Leclercq. The band's lineup has changed multiple times over its -year career, most noticeably with their bassists and lead guitarists. Petrozza and Reil are the only two original members left in Kreator, although the latter took a break from the band from 1994 to 1996. Yli-Sirniö has been the lead guitarist of Kreator since 2001, while Leclercq joined in 2019 as the replacement of Christian "Speesy" Giesler, who had been a member of the band since 1994. To date, Kreator has released fifteen studio albums, two EPs, two live albums and three compilation albums. Oberhausen (, ) is a city on the river Emscher in the Ruhr Area, Germany, located between Duisburg and Essen ( ). Nuclear Blast
Nuclear Blast is a record label and mail order record distributor with subsidiaries in Germany, the United States and Brazil. The label was founded in 1987 by Markus Staiger in Germany. Originally releasing hardcore punk records, the label moved on to releasing albums by thrash metal, melodic death metal, grindcore, industrial metal, power metal and black metal bands, as well as tribute albums. It also distributes and promotes two post-hardcore/metalcore labels: SharpTone Records, focused on the American scene, and Arising Empire, focused more on European bands. Mille Petrozza
Miland "Mille" Petrozza (born 18 December 1967) is a German guitarist and singer of Italian descent. He is best known for being the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of thrash metal band Kreator, which he started playing in as Tyrant in 1982 and renamed into Tormentor in 1984. He is also the principal songwriter of the band and the only member to appear on every Kreator album. Petrozza also shared lead vocals in union with Tomas Lindberg for the track "Dirty Coloured Knife" on the self-titled 2002 album from Israeli metal act Nail Within. In 1994, he played guitar in the metal all-star band Voodoocult, amongst such artists as Dave Lombardo of Slayer and Chuck Schuldiner of Death (metal band), Death. Phantom Antichrist
''Phantom Antichrist'' is the 13th studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released through Nuclear Blast on 1 June 2012. The album entered the US ''Billboard'' 200 at No. 130, selling 3,900 copies in the first week. Release and promotion The album's title track was released as a limited edition 7" vinyl single, which sold out very quickly. It has since been released digitally. The B-side is a cover of " The Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden. Kreator released a music video for "Civilization Collapse" on 28 November 2012. Packaging The digipak edition includes a bonus DVD containing a documentary about the making of the album and a live set compiled from Kreator's performances at the Wacken Open Air festivals in 2008 and 2011. Gods Of Violence
''Gods of Violence'' is the fourteenth studio album by German thrash metal band Kreator, released on 27 January 2017. This is Kreator's final studio album with bassist Christian "Speesy" Giesler before his departure from the band in 2019. Background It was the band's first studio album in almost five years since 2012's ''Phantom Antichrist'', marking the longest gap between two studio albums, until ''Hate Über Alles'' broke this record in 2022. A music video for the album's title track was released on 18 November 2016. Special editions of the album were released with a bonus Blu-ray/DVD of Kreator's performance at Wacken 2014. Sami Yli-Sirniö
Sami Yli-Sirniö (born 10 April 1972) is a Finnish musician. He is currently the lead guitarist of Finnish metal bands Waltari, Barren Earth and German thrash metal band Kreator. He spent part of his life in Germany and thus has strong ties with the German metal scene. German ''Rock Hard'' magazine featured him in 2007 as "forgotten guitar hero". Biography While living in Germany, he served as a session musician for rock band In Rags, gothic act Tiamat and thrash metal band Grip Inc. For both Tiamat and Grip Inc., he played sitar, his second favourite instrument. Yli-Sirniö is currently endorsed by Ibanez. Waltari (1989–1995, 2001–present) Yli-Sirniö originally joined experimental Finnish crossover legend Waltari in 1989. He left the band in 1995 to live in Germany, returning in 2001.
