Gujarat Legislative Assembly
Gujarat Legislative Assembly or Gujarat Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Gujarat, in the state capital Gandhinagar. Presently, 182 members of the Legislative Assembly are directly elected from single-member constituencies (seats). It has a term of 5 years unless it is dissolved sooner. 13 constituencies are reserved for scheduled castes and 27 constituencies for scheduled tribes. From its majority party group or by way of a grand coalition cabinet of its prominent members,the state's Executive namely the Government of Gujarat is formed. Pabubha Manek (born 2 July 1956) is a politician from Gujarat, India. He has served as the Member of Legislative Assembly from Dwarka constituency for 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th Gujarat legislative assembly. Biography Manek was born in 1956 in Vachu village near Dwarka to Virambha Hakbha Manek. He had seven brothers. He studied till 8th grade. On insistence of his community, he joined politics. He contested and won the 1990, 1995 and 1998 Gujarat legislative assembly elections as an independent candidate from Dwarka constituency. He joined the Indian National Congress (INC) and contested and won the 2002 Gujarat legislative assembly election from the same constituency. 2022 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly election was held in Gujarat from 1 to 5 December 2022 in two phases, to elect 182 members of 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The votes were counted and the results were declared on 8 December 2022. The Bharatiya Janata Party, won a huge majority of 156 seats, the most ever won by any party in Gujarat's history.
