Dux Records
Dux is a Polish classical recording label. It was founded in 1992 by sound engineers Małgorzata Polańska and Lech Tołwiński.Gramophone - Volume 83, Nos 1001-1005 2006 "... met many heads of smaller, sometimes tiny, labels, and was struck by the almost evangelistic fervour, the passion of many of them. Karol Kurpiński
Karol Kazimierz Kurpiński (March 6, 1785September 18, 1857) was a Polish composer, conductor and pedagogue. He was a representative of late classicism and a member of the Warsaw Society of Friends of Learning (Polish: ''Towarzystwo Warszawskie Przyjaciół Nauk'', TWPN). He is also known for having composed the music to the 1831 patriotic song '' La Varsovienne'' with lyrics by Casimir Delavigne. He was also a mentor and influence of a young Chopin. Career Born in Włoszakowice, Karol began his studies under his father, Marcin Kurpiński, an organist. At the age of 12, he became an organist at a church in Sarnowa, Konin County, near Rawicz, where his uncle Karol Wański was a parish priest. In 1800 his other uncle, the cellist Roch Wański, took him to the estate of count Feliks Polanowski near Lviv, who had a private orchestra of which Wański was a member, and in which the young Kurpiński played the violin. Wratislavia Cantans
The Andrzej Markowski International Festival Wratislavia Cantans is a music festival held every September in Wrocław and Lower Silesia, Poland, organized by the Witold Lutosławski National Forum of Music in Wrocław. The name ''Wratislavia Cantans'' is Latin for "Singing Wrocław", and the festival from the beginning has focused primarily on presenting the beauty of the human voice. Each year, concerts attract thousands of music lovers to the concert halls of the National Forum of Music, the historic interiors of Wrocław and a dozen or so cities of Lower Silesia. Warsaw Chamber Opera
The Warsaw Chamber Opera ( pl, Warszawska Opera Kameralna, WOK) is a Polish opera company founded in 1961 by Stefan Sutkowski, its managing and artistic director from its inception until his retirement in 2012. On 15 October 1986, the Warsaw Chamber Opera moved into its own theater at Al. Solidarności 76B. The historic building, built in 1777, was formerly used by the Student Theatre Satirical STS (Polish: Studenckiego Teatru Satyryków STS), and before that it was built as the first church in Warsaw of the Polish Reformed Church. The theater building has been entered into the register of monuments of the city of Warsaw.
