Dutch National Cyclo-cross Championships
The Dutch National Cyclo-cross Championships were first held in 1963 and have been held annually since then by the Royal Dutch Cycling Union The Royal Dutch Cycling Union or KNWU (in Dutch: ''Koninklijke Nederlandsche Wielren Unie'') is the national governing body of cycle racing in the Netherlands. The aim of the KNWU is to give adequate support for all types of cycling in the Netherl .... The first women event was held in 1987. The first races were held as a combination race with both the amateurs and the professionals riding in one event. Recent years the races are run in different classes: Elite, U-23, U-18, Juvenile, Masters and Amateurs. Camiel Van Den Bergh
Camael, ( he, חַמּוּאֵל ''Ḥammūʾēl, "''God has warmed") also spelled Chamuel, Khamuel, Camiel, Cameel and Camniel, is the archangel of strength, courage and war in Jewish and Christian angelology. According to poet Gustav Davidson's popular work ''A Dictionary of Angels, Including the Fallen Angels'' (1967), he is known as one of the twelve Kabbalah angels, assigned to the sephira Gevurah, alongside the planet Mars. Camael's name is also included in Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite's 5th or 6th century as one of the Seven Archangels along with Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, Jophiel, and Zadkiel. He is claimed to be the leader of the forces that expelled Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden holding a flaming sword. However, in iconography he is often depicted holding a cup. Zeddam
Zeddam is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Montferland, about 7 km south of Doetinchem. Zeddam was a separate municipality until 1821, when it was merged with Bergh. History Zeddam was first mentioned between 1139 and 1148 as Sydehem. The etymology is unclear. Zeddam is located on the flank of the Paasberg along the road from 's-Heerenberg to Doetinchem. It used to belong to the Lord of Bergh. The St. Oswaldus Church has a tower from around 1500 with a 14th century base. The church dates from 1891. Castle Montferland was a castle from the 9th century. The castle Uplade which was destroyed in 1066 may reference the same castle. It was demolished in 1527. In 1699, it was replaced by an estate which nowadays serves as a restaurant. Woerden () is a city and a municipality in central Netherlands. Due to its central location between Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, and Utrecht, and the fact that it has rail and road connections to those cities, it is a popular town for commuters who work in those cities. Richard Groenendaal
Richard Marinus Anthonius Groenendaal (born 13 July 1971) is a Dutch former professional cyclo-cross cyclist. Groenendaal won the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2000 and the overall titles in the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup 1997–1998, 2000–2001 and 2003–2004 and in the Cyclo-cross Superprestige in 1997–1998 and 2000–2001. Early career Groenendaal's father Reinier was an Elite cyclo-cross cyclist and was Dutch Elite champion in 1985. Groenendaal began to ride as a junior in 1987. He was Dutch Junior champion in 1987–1988 and 1988–89 where he also won the Junior World Cyclo-Cross championships. The following season he joined the Amateur category which he stayed until the 1993–94 season when he turned professional.
