Vidhan Sabha
The State Legislative Assembly, or Vidhan Sabha, or also Saasana Sabha, is a legislative body in the states and union territories of India. In the 28 states and 3 union territories with a unicameral state legislature, it is the sole legislative body and in 6 states it is the lower house of their bicameral state legislatures with the upper house being State Legislative Council. 5 union territories are governed directly by the Union Government of India and have no legislative body. Each Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is directly elected to serve 5-year terms by single-member constituencies. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ( lit. ''Jharkhand Liberation Front''; JMM) is a State political party in the Indian state of Jharkhand which was founded by Binod Bihari Mahato. It has one seat in the 17th Lok Sabha. Shibu Soren is the president of the JMM. JMM is also an influential political party in the state of Odisha and parts of neighbouring of states. Its election symbol for Jharkhand is ''Bow and Arrow''. The party was officially created on the birthday of Birsa Munda, the 19th century tribal warrior of Jharkhand, who fought against the British rule in present-day Jharkhand. Jagarnath Mahto
Jagannath Mahto (1 January 1967 – 6 April 2023) popularly known as "Tiger Mahto" or "Tiger Jagarnath Da" was an Indian politician and cabinet minister from Jharkhand. He represented the Dumri (Vidhan Sabha constituency), Dumri Vidhan Sabha constituency as a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MLA. Dumri Assembly seat has been a stronghold of JMM with Jagarnath Mahto representing its seat since 2000. In the 2019 Assembly elections, he received 71,128 votes, defeating his closest opponent Yashoda Devi, who contested on a AJSU ticket. Mahto tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020. He was taken to Chennai for treatment where remained in a coma for a long time. He underwent a lung transplant, before returning to the state after long nine months of continuous treatment. Shiva Mahto
Shiva Mahto was an Indian politician and three time Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from Dumri Assembly constituency in undivided Bihar. Mahto was one of the prominent participant in 'Jharkhand movement', which demanded separate state of Jharkhand to be created by dividing the state of Bihar in 1970s. He was also known for his endeavour to spread education among the tribals in his constituency. He represented Dumri Assembly constituency in 1980, 1985 and 1995.
