Dulal Guha
Dulal Guha (1929–2001) was an Indian film director of Bollywood films in the 1960s and '70s. He was born in Barisal city. His father Ruhini Guha died when he was one month old after which he was cared for by his uncle Harendra Lal Guha. Hindi cinema, popularly known as Bollywood and formerly as Bombay cinema, refers to the film industry based in Mumbai, engaged in production of motion pictures in Hindi language. Pratigya (1975 Film)
''Pratiggya'' () is a 1975 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film. Produced by Dharmendra and B. S. Deol, the film is directed by Dulal Guha. The music was by Laxmikant-Pyarelal and the lyricist was Anand Bakshi. It stars Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Ajit, Johnny Walker, Jagdeep, Mukri, Mehar Mittal and Keshto Mukherjee. The story revolves around Dharmendra out to avenge his parents' brutal murder by Ajit in this "violent revenge" story. Along with its strong action scenes it also had a significant comic track in the form of "slapstick" comedy getting the film referred to as a "masterpiece in comedy". ''Dharti Kahe Pukarke'' () is a 1969 Indian Hindi-language drama film, produced by Deenanath Shastri under the Vaishali Films banner and directed by Dulal Guha. Starring Jeetendra, Nanda, Sanjeev Kumar and music composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal. The film was remade as Sautela Bhai. Plot Gangaram, a farmer, is an elder stepbrother of Moti and Shivram. He and his wife, Parvati raises them both as their own sons. Moti is sent to Calcutta city for studies and there he becomes a lawyer. Back in the village, Shivram helps Gangaram in cultivating the piece of land they own. To support Moti's education, Gangaram has mortgaged this land to the village moneylender, thinking that Moti will close the debt once he starts earning. ''Mere Humsafar'' () is a 1970 Hindi-language romance film, produced by Yusuf Teendarwajawala under the Labela Films banner and directed by Dulal Guha. ''Dushmun'' () is a 1972 Indian Hindi-language film produced by Premji and directed by Dulal Guha. It is based on a novel by Virendra Sharma. The film stars Rajesh Khanna in the title role and for which he received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actor, the only nomination for the film. Meena Kumari, Mumtaz, Bindu, Rehman, Asit Sen and Johnny Walker are part of the cast. The film became a "super-hit" at the box office and stood 3rd in a major top ten list.
