Duke–NUS Medical School
The Duke–NUS Medical School (Duke–NUS) is a graduate school, graduate medical school in Singapore. The school was set up in April 2005 as the Duke–NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore's second medical school, after the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and before the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. It is a collaboration between Duke University in the United States and the National University of Singapore in Singapore. Duke–NUS follows the American model of post-baccalaureate medical education, in which students begin their medical studies after earning a bachelor’s degree. Students are awarded degrees from both Duke University School of Medicine and the National University of Singapore. The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. that was established in 1876. It represents medical schools, teaching hospitals, and academic and scientific societies, while providing services to its member institutions that include data from medical, education, and health studies, as well as consulting. Koh Poh Koon
Koh Poh Koon ( zh, s=许宝琨, p=Xú Bǎokūn; born 1972) is a Singaporean politician and former colorectal surgeon who has been serving as Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment since 2022 and Senior Minister of State for Manpower since 2021. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Tampines Central division of Tampines GRC since 2020. Prior to entering politics, Koh was a colorectal surgeon and medical researcher. Janil Arusha Puthucheary ( ta, ஜனில் புதுச்சேரி; born 1972) is a Malaysian-born Singaporean politician and paediatrician who has been serving as Minister of State for Communications and Information since 2018 and Minister of State for Health since 2020. He has also been serving as Party Whip of the People's Action Party since 2019. Su-Chun Zhang
Su-Chun Zhang (born 1963 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang), is an American stem cell researcher at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Biography Zhang obtained MD from the Wenzhou Medical College, Wenzhou, and PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Zhang was Professor of Anatomy and Neurology (now Neuroscience) and a research group leader at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In January 2005, Zhang's group differentiated human blastocyst stem cells into neural stem cells, then further into the starts of motor neurons, and eventually into spinal motor neuron cells (which play important role in delivering information from the brain to the spinal cord in the human body). Augustus John Rush (born December 15, 1942) is an internationally renowned psychiatrist. He is a professor emeritus in Duke-NUS Medical School at the National University of Singapore (NUS), and adjunct professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. Tien Wong
Tien Wong (born 1968 in Hong Kong) is an ophthalmologist and researcher. He studies the association of retinal vascular imaging to determine the risks of a number of common diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease and dementia. Eric Andrew Finkelstein is an American health economist. He is a Professor in the Health Services & Systems Research Program at Duke-NUS Medical School, where he is also the executive director of the Lien Centre for Palliative Care. He is also a research professor at Duke University's Global Health Institute.
