Duets (Sting Album)
''Duets'' is a compilation album by English musician Sting. It was released on 19 March 2021 through A&M Records. Background ''Duets'' compiles 17 collaborations spanning from 1992's "It's Probably Me" with Eric Clapton from the ''Lethal Weapon 3'' soundtrack to new songs, recorded remotely, with Melody Gardot, Zucchero and Gashi. The standard "My Funny Valentine", recorded by Sting and Herbie Hancock as the theme song for the 2005 Japanese movie ''Ashura'', was released as a single on 11 March 2021. "Englishman/African In New York", a reworking of Sting's "Englishman in New York" recorded with African artist Shirazee was released as a non-album digital-only single on 19 March 2021. Shirazee had previously covered the song as "African in New York" with Sting's approval. Sting and Shirazee released a music video and performed the song on ABC's ''Good Morning America''. Sting (musician)
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (born 2 October 1951), known as Sting, is an English musician and actor. He was the frontman, songwriter and bassist for new wave rock band The Police from 1977 until their breakup in 1986. He launched a solo career in 1985 and has included elements of rock, jazz, reggae, classical, new-age, and worldbeat in his music. As a solo musician and a member of The Police, Sting has received 17 Grammy Awards: he won Song of the Year for "Every Breath You Take", three Brit Awards, including Best British Male Artist in 1994 and Outstanding Contribution in 2002, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, and four nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Song. All Saints (group)
All Saints are an English girl group formed in London in 1993. They were founded as All Saints 1.9.7.5 by music manager Ron Tom, who later also founded Sugababes, with members Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, and Simone Rainford. The group struggled to find commercial success upon being signed to ZTT Records and were dropped by the label shortly after Rainford left the group. In 1996, the group were joined by Canadian-born sisters Nicole Appleton, Nicole and Natalie Appleton and signed to London Records under their shortened name. Mylène Jeanne Gautier (; born 12 September 1961), known professionally as Mylène Farmer (), is a Canadian-born French singer, songwriter, occasional actress, writer, and entrepreneur. Michael Kamen
Michael Arnold Kamen (April 15, 1948 – November 18, 2003) was an American composer (especially of film scores), orchestral arranger, orchestral conductor, songwriter, and session musician. Biography Early life Michael Arnold Kamen was born in New York City, the second of four sons. His father, Saul Kamen, was a dentist, and his mother, Helen, was a teacher. He was of Jewish heritage. While attending the High School of Music & Art in New York City, Kamen became friends with Martin Fulterman (later known as Mark Snow), who composed the theme music for ''The X-Files'', among other projects. Dominic James Miller (born 21 March 1960) is an Argentine-born guitarist. With much of his career as a sideman and guitarist for singer Sting (musician), Sting, he has also released several solo albums. Career Miller was born in Hurlingham, Buenos Aires, Hurlingham, Argentina to an Irish-born mother and an American-born father who worked for S. C. Johnson & Son, Johnson Wax. When he was ten, his family moved to Racine, Wisconsin, Racine, Wisconsin, where the Johnson headquarters was located, and moved to London two years later. Jen Jis (aka Antoine Chatenet) is a French producer and songwriter. Based in Paris, Chatenet began his professional career writing and composing tracks for European artists. At the same time, he toured in China, Europe, US, and Canada with several other projects. Chatenet created a global commercial sync for the perfume "Les Cascades de Rochas".
