''Drømmen om kaptein Sabeltanns rike'' ( en, The Dream of Captain Sabertooth's Kingdom}) is a 1996 Norwegian children's film written and directed by, and starring Terje Formoe. The film is based on the popular children's play character Captain Sabertooth, a fictional pirate. Production The film was the third Sabertooth film, and was shot in and around Kristiansand. Going straight to video, Terje Formoe stated that the film would break even at 40,000 sold copies. One week after release, it had sold 75,000 copies. Terje Falk Formoe (born 6 December 1949) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, actor, playwright and author. Background Born in Fredrikstad, Norway, he was educated as a schoolteacher. In the 1970s, he began making records of his music. He currently lives in Kristiansand. He was the marketing and entertainment chief at Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park in the early 1980s. Captain Sabertooth (in Norwegian: Kaptein Sabeltann) is a long running series that centers around the eponymous pirate Captain Sabertooth, who was created and was originally portrayed by the Norwegian singer, composer, author and actor Terje Formoe. The series was first launched as a series of stage plays. The first play, ''Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure in Luna Bay'', was first performed in Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park in Norway where Formoe was Director of Entertainment.
