No Knife
No Knife was a band from San Diego, California. They played an innovative form of rock that combined aspects of math rock, post-hardcore, and other indie rock. The band's original lineup was Mitch Wilson (vocals/guitar), Brian Desjean (bass), Aaron Mancini (guitar/vocals), and Ike Zaremba (drums). Prior to their second full-length, the band replaced Mancini with Ryan Ferguson (guitar/vocals). After their first and second full-lengths, '' Drunk on the Moon'' (1996) and '' Hit Man Dreams'' (1997), Chris Prescott was enlisted to play drums. The group went on to release two more full-lengths: '' Fire in the City of Automatons'' (1999) and '' Riot for Romance!'' (2002). No Knife often toured with Jimmy Eat World. After hinting on their website in March 2008 that they might reunite in late 2008 or early 2009, the band was announced as the opening act for three west coast dates on Jimmy Eat World's "Clarity x 10" tour. No Knife played their final show Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the B ...

Goldenrod Records
Goldenrod Records was a record label formed by Tod Swank in 1991 in San Diego, California to release the first 7" record by Custom Floor, a band consisting of skateboarders Garry Davis, Phil Esbenshade, and Miki Vuckovich. After the release of the Custom Floor record, Swank's other project, Foundation Skateboards, gained some financial momentum, and Goldenrod was put on hold. Swank's friend Mark Waters, an employee at Lou's Records at the time, and also a photographer and writer in the skateboarding world, was looking to start a record label and asked Swank for advice. A partnership was born and the "no rules for records" idea was spawned. Basically, this meant that if they liked a band, they'd put out a record if they could, without worrying about how many would sell. A long series of releases by primarily San Diego bands followed, and several noteworthy San Diego bands made their debut on Goldenrod Records: No Knife, Heavy Vegetable, Boilermaker, 100 Watt Halo, The Crimson Curse ...

Time Bomb Records
Time Bomb Recordings was a Laguna Beach, California-based independent record label, founded in 1995 by artist manager Jim Guerinot in a joint-venture agreement with Arista Records. In the following five years, the artist roster grew to encompass a variety of musical genres (punk, indie, rock-a-billy); generally falling under the label "alternative rock". When the Arista agreement expired in 2000, Time Bomb signed with BMG Distribution. The label has also existed mostly to administer its back catalog and is currently distributed by RED Distribution (whose parent, Sony Music Entertainment, absorbed BMG). Time Bomb continued to release new albums in physical form until 2007, with the release of Social Distortion's '' Greatest Hits'' compilation album. Social Distortion would later sign to Epitaph, and Time Bomb did not release any new music in over half a decade. In 2014, Time Bomb was revived with the release of '' Summer Nationals'', an EP of three song covers by The Offspring ...

Allmusic
AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as ''All Music Guide'' by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. After buying it he discovered it was a "flaccid latter-day rehash". Frustrated with the labeling, he researched using metadata to create a music guide. In 1990, in Big Rapids, Michigan, he founded ''All Music Guide' ...
