Dropbox (band)
Dropbox was a five-piece American rock band formed in 2002 in New York City. Their debut album, ''Dropbox'', was released on the Universal Records label with the help of Sully Erna. History The band's self-titled 2004 album charted at number 182 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. It had a minor hit song in "Wishbone" which received some air time on MTV2 and Fuse and was featured in TV commercials. During the group's brief existence, frontman John Kosco provided guest vocals on Godsmack's acoustic release, " Touché", which found moderate success as well. Post-Dropbox After the demise of Dropbox, Kosco and Joe Wilkinson formed a new group with bassist John Freeman and drummer Chris Hamilton, formerly of Bloodsimple, called Saint Caine. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. MTV2
MTV2 (formerly M2) is an American pay television Cable television, channel owned by the Paramount Media Networks division of Paramount Global. The channel launched initially as an all-music video service, once the original MTV had started to shift its programming. As with its parent network, MTV2's focus on music programming would gradually be downplayed during the 2000s. By 2011, MTV2 would primarily target young adult men with original and acquired lifestyle and reality programming, reruns of male-targeting shows from MTV, acquired sitcoms and movies, and a daily block of Hip hop music, hip hop and Rock music, rock genre videos in the early mornings. Another Animal
Another Animal was a hard rock supergroup formed by members of Godsmack, Ugly Kid Joe, and Dropbox. History During the writing sessions of '' IV'' by Godsmack, lead singer Sully Erna encountered writer's block so Tony Rombola, Shannon Larkin, and Robbie Merrill went to the studio and recorded music. After writing almost 40 songs, only 14 were used (Two being bonus songs). The left-over songs were then recycled by the members after they recruited Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe and Another Animal was born. Soon joining the band was friend and former Godsmack and Dropbox guitarist Lee Richards. The band released its self titled debut album in 2007 and first single " Broken Again" reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Bloodsimple was an American heavy metal band from New York City that formed in 2002. They were signed to Warner Bros. Records. The band's name comes from a term coined by detective novelist Dashiell Hammett. The term apparently describes the addled, fearful mindset people are in after a prolonged immersion in violent situations. The term was coined in the novel ''Red Harvest'', which is also the title of Bloodsimple's second album. Godsmack is an American rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, formed in 1995. Sully Erna
Salvatore Paul Erna Jr. (born February 7, 1968) is an American singer, musician, and songwriter, best known as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist for rock band Godsmack. He is also a harmonica player, drummer, and percussionist, performing these on albums and at live shows. He was ranked 47th in the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists by ''Hit Parader''. Early life Sully Erna was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He began playing drums at the age of three. His father, Salvatore Erna Sr., was a trumpet player from Sicily and would rehearse in the basement where Sully would watch. His great-uncle was a famous composer in Sicily. At the age of 11, Erna discovered that it was easier for him to listen to something and play it than read sheet music.
