Dresden & Johnston are an American DJ and production duo composed of Dave Dresden of Gabriel & Dresden and Mikael Johnston of Mephisto Odyssey. History Dave Dresden is the co-founder of the dance music acts Gabriel & Dresden and Motorcycle, remixer for acts like Jewel and The Killers, and the co-author of the dance floor hits As the Rush Comes, and Tracking Treasure Down. Mikael Johnston is the founding member of the Warner Bros. Records act Mephisto Odyssey who were pivotal in defining the nascent San Francisco house sound. Johnston has also collaborated remixed and engineered for artists such as Jane’s Addiction, Static-X, Los Amigos Invisibles, Soul Coughing, I Am the World Trade Center, Smash Mouth, The Matches, The Sounds and Goapele. Static-X is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1994. The line-up has fluctuated over the years, but was long-held constant with band founder, frontman, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Wayne Static until his death in 2014. The band was founded by Wayne Static and original drummer Ken Jay. Goapele Mohlabane (; born July 11, 1977), is an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter. Her name means ''to move forward'' in Setswana, a Southern African language. Early life Goapele's South African father Douglas Mohlabane was an exiled political activist who struggled against the Apartheid System. Goapele's New York-born Israeli Jewish mother Noa had been attending protests since the age of 12.
