DR Y.S.R University of Health Sciences; DR.YSRUHS: ''Ḍā. En. Ṭī. Ār. Ārogyașāstra Vișvavidyālayamu'')is a public university in the city of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, History The university was established as University of Health Sciences by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and was inaugurated on 9 April by N. T. Rama Rao, the then-Chief Minister of the state. It started functioning on 1 November 1986 with Rama Rao as the university's first chancellor. Following the death of Rama Rao, a directive was issued by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to rename the university "Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences", carried out on 2 February 1998. The university celebrated its silver jubilee from 1–3 November 2011. The University has been renamed as Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences in September 2022. Narayana
Narayana (Sanskrit: नारायण, IAST: ''Nārāyaṇa'') is one of the forms and names of Vishnu, who is in yogic slumber under the celestial waters, referring to the masculine principle. He is also known as Purushottama, and is considered the Supreme Being in Vaishnavism. Etymology L. B. Keny proposes that Narayana was associated with the Dravidian, and ultimately, the Indus Valley Civilisation, prior to his syncretism with Vishnu. To this end, he states that the etymology of the deity is associated with the Dravidian ''nara'', meaning water, ''ay'', which in Tamil means "to lie in a place", and ''an'', which is the masculine termination in Dravidian languages. Ayurveda () is an alternative medicine system with historical roots in the Indian subcontinent. The theory and practice of Ayurveda is pseudoscientific. Andhra Medical College
Andhra Medical College is in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India, and affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences.
