Brian Dozier
James Brian Dozier (;born May 15, 1987) is an American former professional baseball second baseman. The Minnesota Twins selected Dozier in the eighth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his MLB debut in 2012 and he played in MLB for the Twins, Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals and New York Mets. Dozier was an All-Star in 2015, and won a Gold Glove Award in 2017. Amateur career Dozier attended and played baseball for Itawamba Agricultural High School located in Fulton, Mississippi, becoming a local star in the town of 4,000. Perry Dozier Jr. (born October 25, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the South Carolina Gamecocks. College career In his senior season at Spring Valley High School, he was named to the 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game roster and scored 14 points. He committed to South Carolina. Dozier Farm, also known as Cliffview Farm, is a historic mansion in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.. History The land was granted to Peter Poyner for his service in the American Revolutionary War. It was inherited by his brother, Robert Poyner, in the 1790s. In 1801, it was purchased by Enoch Dauge who lived here with his wife, Margaret Etheridge. Dauge subsequently changed his name to Dozier. He owned slaves. He built a loghouse, which burnt down in 1840. The current house was built from 1840 to 1842. When Dozier died in 1842, it was inherited by his heirs, who eventually sold it in 1932. Five years later, in 1937, it was purchased by George Hobbs. It was designed in the Greek Revival architectural style. William McElroy Dozier (; February 13, 1908 – April 23, 1991) was an American film and television producer, writer and actor. He is best known for two television series, ''Batman'' and ''The Green Hornet''. Early life Dozier was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated from Creighton University in 1929, where he studied law. Career Dozier began his career as a television writer and then moved into production. With his second wife Joan Fontaine, he co-founded Rampart Productions, responsible for '' Letter from an Unknown Woman'' (1948). He produced the film noir starring Joan Crawford, ''Harriet Craig'' in 1950. In the early 1950s he was executive producer for dramatic programs on CBS television including '' You Are There'', ''Ben Hecht's Tales of the City'' and '' Suspense''. Scott Raymond Dozier (; November 20, 1970 – January 5, 2019) was an American murderer on death row in Nevada for the 2002 murder of 22-year-old Jeremiah Miller, who was one of Dozier's drug associates. He would have been the first inmate executed by the state of Nevada in more than a decade, but died by suicide in prison before this could take place after a lengthy battle to carry out his death sentence by the state. Lamont Herbert Dozier (; June 16, 1941 – August 8, 2022) was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Detroit, Michigan. He co-wrote and produced 14 US ''Billboard'' number-one hits and four number ones in the UK. Career Dozier was a member of Holland–Dozier–Holland, the songwriting and production team responsible for much of the Motown sound and numerous hit records by artists such as Martha and the Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Isley Brothers. Edward Pasqual Dozier (born Eduardo de Pascua Dozier; 1916 in Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico – 1971 in Tucson, Arizona) was a Pueblo Native American anthropologist and linguist who studied Native Americans and the peoples of northern Luzon in the Philippines. Dozier was of Tewa ethnicity, from Santa Clara Pueblo. He spoke only Tewa to the age of 12. His father, Thomas Dozier, was an Anglo-American schoolteacher who was adopted into a Tewa clan. His mother, Maria Lucaria Gutierrez, was a member of the Tewa Badger clan (her Tewa name was P'oo kwi tsaawaa). Eduardo and his siblings were raised as members of the Winter moiety of the Santa Clara pueblo. During World War II, Dozier served in the US Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater.
