Down Home (TV Series)
Down Home is an American sitcom television series created by Barton Dean, that aired on NBC from April 12, 1990 to May 18, 1991. Ted Danson served as series co-producer. Premise New York City executive Kate McCrorey returned to visit her home town of Hadley Cove, Texas, a Gulf Coast fishing village, only to end up staying there to try to save her father Walt's bait and tackle shop from condominium developer Wade Prescott, Kate's ex-boyfriend. Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. A situation comedy television program may be recorded in front of a studio audience, depending on the program's production format. The effect of a live studio audience can be imitated or enhanced by the use of a laugh track. Critics disagree over the utility of the term "sitcom" in classifying shows that have come into existence since the turn of the century. Eric Allan Kramer (born March 26, 1962) is an American actor and fight choreographer. Gary "Gedde" Watanabe (born June 26, 1955) is an American actor and comedian. He is perhaps best known for voicing the character of Ling in the 1998 animated film ''Mulan'' and its 2004 sequel ''Mulan II'', as well as playing Long Duk Dong in the 1984 film ''Sixteen Candles'', and as Nurse Yoshi Takata in the NBC medical drama '' ER'' from 1997 to 2003. Tom Harmon (July 20, 1937 – June 14, 1995), credited as Timothy Scott or Tim Scott, was an American actor. Personal life Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan, lived in New Mexico, and moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1959 for his acting career.
