Dov Feigin
Dov Feigin ( he, דב פייגין; born 1907, died 2000) was an Israeli sculptor. Biography Dov Feigin was born in 1907 in Luhansk, Ukraine, then part of the Russian Empire. His father was a tailor. Feigin attended public Ukraine school as well as a Talmud Torah school. In 1920, Feigin's family moved to Gomel, where he became a member of the Socialist-Zionist movement Hashomer Hatzair. In 1924, he was arrested and imprisoned for three years. In 1927, after his release, he emigrated to the Mandate Palestine and was one of the founding members of the Afikim Kibbutz. In 1933, Feigin was accepted to the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris, France, where he studied as a traditional sculptor. His works from that period were mostly traditional statues in stone. In 1937, Feigin returned to Tel Aviv. Ein Hod
Ein Hod ( he, עֵין הוֹד) is a village in Haifa District in northern Israel. Located at the foot of Mount Carmel and southeast of Haifa, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hof HaCarmel Regional Council and has the status of community settlement. In it had a population of . The village is situated on a hillside amidst olive groves, with a view of the Mediterranean Sea. Prior to the 1948 Arab–Israeli War Ein Hod was the site of the Palestinian village of Ein Hawd. The Lola Beer Ebner Sculpture Garden is a sculpture garden at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. It includes a collection of modern and contemporary sculpture, and other exhibits from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, displayed on public terraces around the museum complex. The Tel Aviv Museum of Art was founded in 1932 in what is now Independence Hall and since 1971 has been located on King Saul Avenue in Tel Aviv. Yad Kennedy
Yad Kennedy ( he, יד קנדי, Kennedy Memorial ), located in the Mateh Yehuda Region near Jerusalem, is a memorial to John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States, who was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963. The memorial is shaped like the stump of a felled tree, symbolizing a life cut short. Inside is a bronze relief of Kennedy, with an eternal flame burning in the center. It is encircled by 51 concrete columns, one for each of the 50 states in the United States plus one for Washington, D.C., that nation's capital. Canaanites (movement)
Canaanism was a cultural and ideological movement founded in 1939 that reached its peak in the 1940s among the Jews of Mandatory Palestine. It has had significant effect on the course of Israeli art, literature and spiritual and political thought. Its adherents were called Canaanites ( he, כנענים).
