Dov Atzmon
Dov Atzmon (23 October 1941 — 12 October 2020) was an Israeli footballer. He played in 8 matches for the Israel national football team from 1961 to 1965. Career Atzmon started to play football for Hapoel Jerusalem there played 6 seasons. In 1964 moved to Hapoel Haifa there was the penalty kicker and scored 20 goals for Hapoel during 8 seasons. In addition won once in the Israel State Cup. 1965–66 Israel State Cup
The 1965–66 Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina'') was the 27th season of Israel's nationwide football cup competition and the 12th after the Israeli Declaration of Independence. A rule change was instituted this season, so that in the event of a tie at the end of 90 minutes and extra time, there will be a penalty shoot-out, instead of a replay. The first two penalty shoot-outs of the competition occurred on the first round, played on 18 September 1965, with Hapoel Shefayim besting Hapoel Givat Haim 4–3, and with Hapoel Sha'ar HaNegev winning over Hapoel Ramat David with the same result. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final itself were all played within one week, between 1 June 1966 and 8 June 1966. Hapoel ( he, הפועל, lit. ''the worker'') is an Israeli Jewish sports association established in 1926 by the Histadrut Labor Federation. History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The current holders of the State Cup are the Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa, who beat Beitar Jerusalem in the 2018 final on May 9, 2018.
