Dougie Anderson
Douglas James Anderson (born 27 May 1976 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish radio and television presenter writer and voice-over artist who trained at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. Radio Anderson is notable for his regular guest appearances on BBC Radio Five Live's ''Fighting Talk''. After co-presenting Crufts with Clare Balding he is introduced as "The Husky Voiced Scotsman". In 2008 he contributed to the book to accompany the series. Stand up 2011 saw Anderson launch on to the standup comedy scene, alongside old co-host and radio DJ Iain Lee. The regular night in Camden, London called Clip Joint, part standup part review show, featured a heady mix of archive television shows, audience participation, special guests and Lipton's Ice Tea. Boys And Girls (TV Series)
''Boys and Girls'' was a British television gameshow broadcast in 2003 by Channel 4. The series was produced by Chris Evans through his company UMTV, and was presented by Vernon Kay. Evans only occasionally appeared on screen, usually as the driver of the golf buggy used to ferry the winning contestants off-set at the end of the show. Thus the show was one of the first Evans-produced shows not to feature Evans himself in a presenting role (in fact, Evans did not regularly front any UMTV programmes until OFI Sunday in late 2005). "All Tomorrow's Parties" is a song by the Velvet Underground and Nico, written by Lou Reed and released on the group's 1967 debut studio album, ''The Velvet Underground & Nico''. Inspiration for the song came from Reed's observation of Andy Warhol’s clique—according to Reed, the song is "a very apt description of certain people at the Factory at the time. ... I watched Andy. I watched Andy watching everybody. I would hear people say the most astonishing things, the craziest things, the funniest things, the saddest things." In a 2006 interview Reed's bandmate John Cale stated: "The song was about a girl called Darryl, a beautiful petite blonde with three kids, two of whom were taken away from her." Belle And Sebastian
Belle and Sebastian are a Scottish indie pop band formed in Glasgow in 1996. Led by Stuart Murdoch, the band has released eleven albums. The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is an exhibition centre located in Marston Green, Solihull, West Midlands, England. It is near junction 6 of the M42 motorway, and is adjacent to Birmingham Airport and Birmingham International railway station. It was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1976. History The NEC was originally going to be built adjacent to the M1 motorway (junction 21) near Leicester but it was turned down by Leicestershire County Council with claims that "The big shows won't move away from London". Crufts
Crufts is an international dog show held annually in the United Kingdom, first held in 1891. Organised and hosted by The Kennel Club, it is the largest show of its kind in the world. Crufts is centred on a championship conformation show for dogs, and includes a large trade show of mainly dog-related goods and services, as well as competitions in dog agility, Obedience training, obedience, flyball and heelwork to music. Winner of the annual Friends for Life competition which celebrates unsung canine heroes is also announced at Crufts and it hosts finals of Scruffts, a crossbreed competition.
