Douch () is an English-language surname meaning German. Etymology ''Douch'' is an archaic English orthography of ''Dutch''. When this orthography was used, ''Douch'' (or ''Dutch'') was an English-language adjective synonymous with ''German sensu lato'' or ''Germanic'', only acquiring a narrower definition in modern usage as an adjective for the Netherlands. John Russell Smith, in ''Patronymica Britannica: a dictionary of the family names of the United Kingdom'' (1860), writes the following entry for Douch: ''DOUCH. An old orthography of 'Dutch,' by which however we must understand, not a Hollander, but a German: the latter word being of rather recent importation into English. Clement Marfo & The Frontline
Clement Marfo & The Frontline were an English music group formed in South London. The group's members are diverse in many genres of music. Their sound is built on grime (music genre), grime and hip hop music, hip-hop, with elements of rock music, rock brought in by the various members of the band. History The band was founded by Clement Marfo. Marfo, who was educated at Wimbledon College and served as Deputy Head Boy there, started his career as a hip-hop artist, but soon wanted to have a live band to work with and to dabble in the rock scene. Sompting Abbotts Preparatory School
Sompting Abbotts Preparatory School is a historic West Sussex independent school in Sompting, near Worthing and Steyning. It educates children of both sexes aged 2 to 13. The school sits in parkland of 30 acres, which includes woodland, chalk grassland slopes and a pond. Alcopop! Records is a British independent record label, run by Jack Clothier and Kevin Douch formed in 2006 when the pair lived together in East Oxford. The label works with the likes of DZ Deathrays, Johnny Foreigner, Fight Like Apes, Anamanaguchi, Peaness, TIGERCUB, Gaffa Tape Sandy, The Spook School, Nelson Can, and QI. Inception Alcopop! Records was formally created after a small loan was gambled on the Charlton vs Portsmouth match of 16 September 2006, with money for the first release and show generated from a successful bet on the match. This money was invested in a band from Yeovil called Encyclopedia, with the first single "Emily" (Alcopop001) kicking off the 2006/7 singles club (which also included the likes of Midget, data.select.party and 4 or 5 Magicians). Ekko Park are a rock band from Auckland, New Zealand, that consists of guitarist and singer Joe Walsh, guitarist Jessie Booth, drummer Nick Douch and bassist Bryan Bell. Ekko Park have released two albums: 2013's ''Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Today'' which was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2014 New Zealand Music Awards and 2015's ''Know Hope'' which was nominated for the 2016 Taite Music Prize. Cognate
In historical linguistics, cognates or lexical cognates are sets of words in different languages that have been inherited in direct descent from an etymology, etymological ancestor in a proto-language, common parent language.
