Double Take (Petra Album)
''Double Take'' is the Grammy Award winning, eighteenth studio album of the Christian rock band Petra (band), Petra. It was released on February 29, 2000. The album features 10 new acoustic rearrangements of classic Petra songs. It also features two new songs ("Breathe In" and "The Longing"). The song "Breathe In" is sung by guitarist Pete Orta. It was written completely by him. This is the only album to feature Trent Thomason on keyboards. Album background ''Double Take'' features new rearrangements of ten classic Petra songs. The new arrangements are more modern and acoustic-oriented. According to lead singer John Schlitt, the purpose of the record is "not to compete. It's to reintroduce to a generation that never heard any of these songs". Schlitt also said that the songs were "designed" to be played on radio. Richard Donald Crenna (November 30, 1926 – January 17, 2003) was an American film, television and radio actor. Crenna starred in such motion pictures as ''The Sand Pebbles'', ''Wait Until Dark'', ''Un Flic'', ''Body Heat'', the first three ''Rambo'' films, ''Hot Shots! Part Deux'', and ''The Flamingo Kid''. A double-take is a nonverbal communication in which a second look is taken at something with a marked physical reaction such as shock, astonishment, or amazement. In Theatre, theatrical terms, a 'take' is a physical reaction to seeing something. Comic characters often perform a double take because of the absurd world in which they are performing, and their audiences are often in a similar position when they have had an instant to reflect on a comic performance. With correct timing a double-take seldom fails to get a laugh. ''Double Take'' is an album by trumpeters Freddie Hubbard and Woody Shaw recorded in November 1985 and released on the Blue Note label. It features performances by Hubbard, Cecil McBee, Carl Allen, Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Garrett. The album was Hubbard's first for Blue Note since recording '' The Night of the Cookers'' (1965) twenty years previously.
