Doru Frîncu
Doru Frîncu or Doru Francu-Cioclei (born 5 May 1954) is a Romanian bobsledder. He competed in the four man event at the 1980 Winter Olympics. Frîncu was coach to the Australian Olympic bobsleigh team from as early as 1989 through 2006. His mentees included Grant Edwards. Bobsleigh or bobsled is a team winter sport that involves making timed runs down narrow, twisting, banked, iced tracks in a gravity-powered sleigh. The 1980 Winter Olympics, officially the XIII Olympic Winter Games and also known as Lake Placid 1980, were an international multi-sport event held from February 13 to 24, 1980, in Lake Placid, New York, United States. Lake Placid was elected as the host city for the 1980 Winter Games at the 75th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session in Vienna, Austria in 1974.
