Dorina Frati
Dorina Frati is an Italian classical mandolin player. She performs regularly with European orchestras such as The Teatro alla Scala, Philharmonic of La Scala, the National Academy of Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Santa Cecilia, the National Orchestra of RAI, the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua and the Philharmonic of Rome. She completed her studies with :it:Giuseppe Anedda, Giuseppe Anedda, graduating from the :it:Conservatorio Cesare Pollini, Pollini Conservatory of Padua, Padua, Italy. Work Frati has performed under the direction of Riccardo Muti, who invited her to perform with the Bayrischer Rundfunk Simphonieorchester of Munich, Germany. Mandolin
A mandolin ( it, mandolino ; literally "small mandola") is a stringed musical instrument in the lute family and is generally plucked with a pick. It most commonly has four courses of doubled strings tuned in unison, thus giving a total of 8 strings, although five (10 strings) and six (12 strings) course versions also exist. There are of course different types of strings that can be used, metal strings are the main ones since they are the cheapest and easiest to make. The courses are typically tuned in an interval of perfect fifths, with the same tuning as a violin (G3, D4, A4, E5). Also, like the violin, it is the soprano member of a family that includes the mandola, octave mandolin, mandocello and mandobass. In Greek mythology, Erato (; grc, Ἐρατώ) is one of the Greek Muses, which were inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts. The name would mean "desired" or "lovely", if derived from the same root as Eros, as Apollonius of Rhodes playfully suggested in the invocation to Erato that begins Book III of his ''Argonautica''.
