Doreen Amule
Doreen Ruth Amule, commonly known as Doreen Aumule, is a Ugandan politician and member of parliament, representing Amolatar District Women's Constituency, since 2017. She is a co-sponsor of the controversial parliamentary bill to scrap the age limits of the Ugandan president, as enshrined in the 1995 Ugandan Constitution. Background and education She was born in Amolatar District, on 28 October 1882. She attended Masindi Secondary School between 1998 and 2001, for her O-Level education. She then went on to attend Wanale View Secondary School, in Mbale, for her A-Level education, from 2002 until 2003. In 2004, she was admitted to the Islamic University in Uganda, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelors in Human Resource Management. In 2010, she attended the Law Development Centre in Kampala, graduating with a Certificate in Administrative Law. Amolatar District
Amolatar District is a district in Northern Uganda. Like many other Ugandan districts, it is named after its main municipal and administrative centre, Amolatar Town. Location Amolatar District is bordered by Apac District to the north, Dokolo District to the northeast, Kaberamaido District to the east, Buyende District to the southeast, Kayunga District to the south and Nakasongola District to the west. Evelyn Anite
Evelyn Anite Kajik, commonly known as Evelyn Anite, is a Ugandan journalist and politician. She is the State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization in the Ugandan Cabinet since 6 June 2016. Previously, she served as State Minister for Youth. She was appointed to that position on 1 March 2015, replacing Ronald Kibuule, who was appointed State Minister for Water Resources. She also served as the elected Member of Parliament for Koboko Municipality, in the West Nile sub-region, in the Northern Region of Uganda, a position she occupied from 2011 until 2021. Lango People
The Lango are a Nilo-Hamitic ethnic group of the Ateker peoples. They live in north-central Uganda, in a region that covers the area formerly known as the Lango District until 1974, when it was split into the districts of Apac and Lira, and subsequently into several additional districts. The current Lango Region now includes the districts of Amolatar, Alebtong, Apac, Dokolo, Kole, Lira, Oyam, Otuke, and Kwania. The total population of the Lango District is around 1,500,000. The Lango speak in “ LebLango”, a mixture of Ateker peoples dialects and broken Luo languages. Early history The Lango oral tradition states that they were part of the "Lango race" during the migration period. This group later split into several distinct groups before entering Uganda (see Tarantino, Odwe, Crazollara, Uzoigwe).
