Voetbalvereniging Pernis is a Dutch football club in Pernis, Rotterdam that emerged in 2011 from a technical merger between DOTO (founded 1933) and Excelsior Pernis (founded 1929). Its women's futsal team, that won the national championship in 2016, plays in nearby Schiedam. VV Pernis has three first squads; the women's futsal team plays in the Eredivisie. Both the men and women association football first squads play in their gender-specific Vierde Klasse. The male second squad plays in the Reserve Derde Klasse. The Tweede Klasse ( en, Second Class) is the seventh tier of football in the Netherlands and the fifth tier of Dutch amateur football. The league is divided into 22 divisions, 10 played on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. Each division consists of 14 teams. The COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus reached the Netherlands on 27 February 2020, when its first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Tilburg. Nikki de Roest (Heerjansdam, 4 April 1993) is a Dutch educator and a former association football player, who played professionally in 2012–2013 season for PSV/FC Eindhoven. Drachtster Boys is a football club from Drachten, Netherlands. The female squads of the soccer club are extremely successful, winning national titles and cups. The male squad plays in the 2021–22 season in the Saturday Eerste Klasse (6th flight) after relegation from the Hoofdklasse in 2016.
